I think we needed to address 2 things and we did one, partially. We needed someone to play with McD, will Smith be that guy? Well see. The other part was the overall softness of the team and we didn't even dent that.

Rentals were not very good this season's trade deadline...and that's about all the Rangers could have traded for. With the expansion draft looming, there was simply not much that could be done.

Unless Gorton trades a contracted player (Stepan, Staal, Nash...) for another player's contract, I think the last 30 minutes are going to be rather dull.

Gorton is working on something right now ... it will blow your mind ... even bigger than the Beck trade. Stay tuned.

Gorton won say it, but I get the feeling that he's not gonna bother adding pieces and losing draft picks/prospects when next year seems to be NYR's best shot. IMO

So this is team they going into the Playoffs with. I'm gonna watch, but let's be honest we can all predict the result.

Top to bottom-coaches players, even Ranmer and Cass lol. Only people that should be safe imo are Mac and Skjei...everyone else is up for grabs. Buch, Miller, kreider included

Just my personal opinion, but I think if they go through the Atlantic, they have a reasonable shot to get to the Semis (and who knows from there). If they have to go through the Metro, I am not confident at all.

The Rangers are a very good team, perhaps better than some teams that won playoff rounds. But, it's also true that the competition around them is a lot better than it was in the years where they made deep runs.

Team is good up front. Maybe add a guy or two. In goal we got Hank (hopefully Raanta). D....well....McD, Skjei, Holden, Staal, Smith (if he pans out), Shatty, and see what we can get if we trade Stepan, Klein, and ?
