I hope he has a great playoffs. Doesn't mean we can't talk about his recent struggles and why he will never go above 55-60 points. He disappears for long stretches. Started the season with 0 goals 6 assists in 11 games also.

Just to note how bad a year he's having take a look specifically at his giveaways and takeaways compared through out his career and this year, also you can see what AV has done to the team, take a look at hits, I never noticed it before

the guy got absolutely annihilated last night and still led all forwards in minutes and was forced to take 30 faceoffs

How many years has Washington had Ovechkin running around in the playoffs hitting, guys like Wilson, Laich, Brouwer, and where has that got them?
- Rangers99

I can't have one? One guy that will wipe shyt in someone's face? One that will hit his own gramma into the first row? One that will be a detour sign at the front of Hanks crease?I really can't have one guy like that???

what's scary about the Capitals is you don't wanna take penalties against that team

Staal went after Ovechkin, got a penalty and they barely killed that penalty off

Wait, is the stereotype that they were a heavy team now? I thought it was that they are all offense, no defense?

I would consider it a compliment that they are a heavy team. In reality they have not one weakness. It's just a matter of conquering the ghosts this spring. They are a lot like the Rangers in 1994 at this point.

One guy would be good, I just don't think they need more than that

Playoff time is different and as we can see, they get exposed somehow every year

Who called them the smurfs in the 80s? Was it Dave brown? It really feels like that right now I hate to bring it to people's attention

Not me. I was all for it. Sell high. I do not think he has much more to offer than what we've already seen.

look, I am very proud about beating them in 2012, 2013, and 2015, but, I wouldn't say they were exposed. I think those were extremely tough series and I don't think it's a coincidence that the Rangers lost the next series every time. They took everything out of the Rangers they had to give.

Ek says Tyson Barrie could possibly be available . Doubt they could make deal with Sakic though his would most likely want multiple picks top prospects and your first born child.

I am sure they'd insist on Skjei, no way in hell

Still pending a trade call, so nothing official, but am told LA Kings and Colorado Avalanche finalizing a Jarome Iginla trade

If they weren't exposed, even last year against Pittsburgh, they would have been out of the second round at least once.

Don't get it.... Why would Iginla go to LA? Does anybody really think they have a shot at the cup?

For 90% of the year that they finished 8th in the Conference and won the Cup, I don't think many people think they had a shot then either.

I think they are an interesting team. I don't think they are a true Cup contender, but they have some pedigree and now have Quick back (not to mention Bishop), so I guess you never know.
