Indeed, Nylander has zero hockey sense.
A lot of dangling, turning, skating, but 0 effectiveness.
He'll be traded in about 2 years from now when it's clear he's nothing more than a pp specialist with inexistent defensive skills and 0 battle. - MaximusAurelius
On pace for ~60 points, but no effectiveness.

no.
I am saying that I think Nylander will not be an all-star, and that the Leafs to be a better team, they should best trade him for another player that can contribute at both sides of the ice. - MaximusAurelius
Trade someone cause they're too good offensively?

Suck to lose like that, but could see it coming. Sharks pretty much own the game. Andersen was terrific and kept them in it.
Such a leafy move to have numbers back but all go to one guy and leave the goal scorer available. |

very easy to change things that were said.
I say trade Nylander (who puts up very good offensive numbers) for a good young D-man or other winger/C that brings some defensive attributes as well.
I would be very happy to be proven wrong in 2 years from now if Nylander progresses and is better in his own zone.

REmeberwhen kadri would never learn?
Yeah trade 20 yr old high end skilled forward (who needs em anyways) because he'll never learn.
In case you hadn't noticed Nylander has made terrific strides in that area this year....... But as you said he'll never learn. |

I never said Kadri would never learn.
[some others might have, but not me]
And it was just in December when Babcock wasn't very pleased with Nylander's efforts and compete level [on D] so not sure where the 'terrific strides this year] part comes from. |

Can Leafs get a top4 D from NYI by taking on Grabovski's contract maybe today? |

Never said you said that, but it was said and it was proven utterly wrong. Was used to point out that players can in fact Learn,........ Especially with Babcock here.
And that was December, it's no march and Babcock has said how good Nylander has been without the puck.... Several timses.
But, you know....... Never gonna learn. Not making strides.
Watching the games would definitely help. |

Yeah it was painful to watch. You could tell sj was going to score, was just hoping they could scratch out a point.
They need to learn from these and just keep putting the foot on the gas. |

look at babcock quotes in media on Phaneuf a few weeks before he gets traded..
of course he's not going to say he's not doing well.
Babcock being a great coach means he understands how to motivate Nylander and is trying to get him better on some aspects of the game; that's still the objective obviously. |
