Oh come on.. there was 3 opponents on the ice, only 1 of them between him and Patches with the whole ice to work with!

I like Danault.

I think he's a good young player.
He's a 3C on all NHL teams, some teams he might be 2C.

However, he's not a 1C, nowhere near.

With Radulov and Patches, everyone would look good.

In the Canadiens for the first 2 lines, Galchenyuk > Danault > Plek > everyone else. So IMO, he's currently a 2C on this team, but he should be a 3C. However if he's a 3C, I don't think he's better than Plekanecs in that role.

He might do OK as a 4C if the Habs get a 1C or 2C, but I think he's better than that and I'd rather see him traded.

No. Anyone wouldn't look good. (frank)ing guy is driving the forecheck most of the time and still manages to create with them. I would argue they are able to make some of the plays they do because Danault is well involved. Smart player.

I agree actually, Danault shouldn't be in my poop house; his goal scoring has slump is why I considered him there.

Very pleasantly surprised with a win.

I agree with this. For example, Galchenyuk was PPG when playing with Patches and Radulov, not so much now that he doesn't play with them anymore. It surely make us overate Danault a bit. But he's still a good player.

Is Richard Panik a 1RW?
Is Jake Guentzel a 1RW?
Is Tom Wilson a 1RW?
Is Jordan Weal a 1LW?

Point is, most teams play 2 legit top3 forwards on the 1st line, with an other guy to complete them. Danault does that perfectly. I have no problem what so ever with him playing on the 1st line with Pax and Radulov. Proof has been made, they do well together.
The problem is not there. The problem is that they don't have a 2nd line. Chucky needs a center to play with him on the 2nd line (or a winger if you think he should remain at center).
Without that 2nd line, if you stop Pax, you have a good chance of winning the game.

So yeah, Duchene, or someone like him is a must if they want to have a chance. A small one, but a still a chance. No help, start shinning your clubs.

what a random piece of news that was

on a related note, how the (frank) does Jannik Hansen have any type of no trade clause?

- DoubleDown

He's a pretty damn good hockey player. His 35ish points are nothing to write home about but he kills penalties, is an excellent forechecker and can slide up the lineup when necessary. He only makes 2.5 million, so in return he got an NTC.

I would think about that one really hard. The only «small» problem is the salary cap.

Unretire one, have the Richard family come out and do a big ceremony. Like the Vinny/Beliveau plan was.

Don't know who's the pro scout who recommended Ott to Bergevin but he needs to be fired ASAP
