I'm not sure they would do it. But maybe talk about slim pickings. Kruger owed 5.75 over 2 years or Pokka? Which would you do.

what would make a ton of sense is, Vegas has to spend 45 Mil or so I heard. What about take McNeal with a agreement in place that after July 1st (pay his 2 mil signing bonus) we move Kruger to Vegas for a prospect they do not want? They get Kruger owed 3.9 mil but with a AAV of 6.2 over 2 years. Vegas is not going to have cap issues so deals that have higher AAV then actually salaries are big for them.

Yes - re-signing Roz/Tootoo for next year clearly means that Hammer is going to go on the LTIR and the Blackhawks will make a big trade. Makes all the sense in the world. The Dr.s are probably working something up right now so the Blackhawks can properly put Hammer on the LTIR.

Bringing Oduya back would slot each defenseman nicely, considering what we were able to do with only 4 dmen in 2015, Campbell and TVR or Kempny even Rozy as our 5 and 6 dmen that should tighten things up nicely

Agreed. I'm a little puzzled myself because JO is not great on the right, at all. I suspect it may be more a case of "ehhh, we'd like an insurance policy should Hammer not be OK, but more importantly, someone who we trust more than 51 or 6 to play big minutes in the playoffs."

I will be honest with you, to my eye: 6 has tons of natural ability improving every game, but is still really raw and will make mistakes in the playoffs. And 51 is really on his last legs. He scares the crap out of me every time the puck gets behind him.

In response to whomever was discussing how it has taken a team to take the Hawks to game 7 to knock them out of the playoffs since 2010...it also took overtime in those game 7's to knock the Hawks out (Vancouver, Kings, Blues last year).

Hawks have to be the most feared team come playoff time!

Hence why the Wild fought to get Hanzal...they know that being big up the middle and forcing the hawks to the perimeter is the ONLY way to make it to a game 7 overtime with the Hawks where they can possibly win...Now they just hope that it works, and the Hawks don't add anything to put them over the top...
