Ask Leaf fans about Panik. Ask Wing fans about Jurco. Just saying.
Lazar was drafted above both of them. I am not making a qualitative statement about Lazar either.
Just adding some perspective. - John Jaeckel
Wings fans liked Jurco and he actually put up decent numbers at one point. Was just mismanaged. Lazar sucks. |

because they have to expose at least X numbers of players too and signing these guys helps that - hawkss81
Really? Ok then it makes more sense if that's the case. Thing is if TVR is picked then Hawks can't lose anyone else anyway. I guess I haven't studied up on this expansion crap enuff |

My question is WHAT? Why would resigning those two have any bearing on anything, unless Stan is trying to put together a beer league team. - kwolf68
we have to be expansion qualified... and those two now qualify. Plus being under $950k, they can be buried/waived with no cap hit. |

Sounds like a no go on Filpulla, not that they were in:
@CapFriendly
Another point to consider: If Filppula is traded, his NMC would still survive. Therefore the acquiring team would still need to protect him. - JRoenick97
Creates problems for Chicago if he goes to Nashville. That will be another team with improved center depth. A guy who is good at faceoffs and has a history of shadowing Toews in the playoffs. |

TVR is as good as gone I thought you only needed to expose 2 forwards and 1 D with 40/70 games. Right now it would be TVR, Kruger and Tootoo. tootoo makes sense. Roz does not so something must be up. what is the over under of pucks Campbell backhands into stands for a delay or game? |

How does resigning these aging scrubs help with expansion? You still can protect ONLY x number of players. TVR would still be available for expansion if you protect 2, 7 and 4. - kwolf68
Maybe TVR is on the way out via trade. |

I still wouldn't mind another center. One who can win faceoffs. |

Some team might chump up a late pick for Pokka. Desi could have some minimal value to an Eastern playoff team. Maybe. McNeill, again, hope to apply the "change of scenery" thinking to another team, but Al is right, Hawks have tried to package him several times for well over a year. - John Jaeckel
McNeill cleared waivers when sent down to Rockford at the beginning of the season. That alone would seem to indicate that he can't be moved. |

I know how McD and the marketing machine are "all in" for this year's draft, some say to the detriment of not moving their #1 pick but how do they spin a first round or even second round exit? I know McD is good, hell look at the marketing job he did on the North Side with a sh*t team (and I'm a Cub fan), but he ain't that good.
Btw, nice work as usual JJ, I love the TDL blogs you do. You always pull out the 50 cent vocabulary words too. Epiphany, permutations, blithe and my favorite "Team PR
Debunker 5000". Not hard to tell you've been an ad man all your working career. Love it!!!! |

Fatty I usually agree, but not on the bolded. Eager was a first rounder cuz of his speed. He disrupted the play of the other teams defense. Sometimes he got there at the same time or even before the D man could retrieve the puck. He was fast. - 6628
Very fast for a big man. |

On a side note if we move TVR for a rental, And we do not add a FR to off limts list. as of today
Keith Seabs hammer
teows, kane, AA, hossa, Hartman, Jurco and panik would be held out.
Vegas gets nothing of any value from us. Mcneal or Pokka, Latta, Moose, Sved. That is ugly for vegas. |

Umm, wouldn't winning another Cup be the biggest PR boost possible, not having winning the draft...
Who cares about winning the draft....heck the Bears even got a grade of a B on last year's draft and see what that got them... |

One of my favorites was about a year ago when he compared an often concussed player (can't remember his name) to Jerry Quarry. That was a fine piece of writing. |

also leaves Kruger, Rozy and Tootoo.
so by moving TVR now, Stan could be pushing Vegas to take Kruger and his $3M come expansion draft time.

Rozy qualifies with his 70 games in 2 seasons. CapFriendly politely let me know on twitter that his 4 playoff games count form last year. He's at 71 for 2 seasons. |
