Im sure the Hawks will love the 8 slices of bologna can of cream corn and potato wedges they get in return
- HamiltonHawk

McNeill's been reported here, Pokka, no surprise, same deal as McNeill. And no they won't get a lot for either or both if at all. Add Desjardins too.

FWIW....Breadman is tied for 14th among forwards with 55 pts....2 pts out of 10th. The only "good" news is that most of the players directly in front of him have a couple of games in hand.

not sure it even works then because of breadman's raise
- hawkss81

The original trade proposal for Dutch, i was told, involved Kruger as part of a large package going the other way, with a planned additional cap reduction this summer. Of about $3 million.

It could work only if Pan misses his bonus, and we also move Kruger.

Meh, the Hawks 4th line in 2010 was Madden (SLOW) Burish (MEDIUM SLOW) and Eager (PRETTY SLOW AND DUMB)

They only need to eat 8 mins \ night and not be stupid.

Jurco Dutch Hossa hella fast and hellah good in every situation. PAC just super good. and Schmalz Panic and Toews is an eclectic mix that may just work. Especially with some juicy match ups.

- fattybeef

Jurco has only played one game. Think everyone needs to pump the brakes on claiming he is the next Panik-like diamond in the ruff.

Some team might chump up a late pick for Pokka. Desi could have some minimal value to an Eastern playoff team. Maybe. McNeill, again, hope to apply the "change of scenery" thinking to another team, but Al is right, Hawks have tried to package him several times for well over a year.

That's the only way another $6 mill player can come...It happens in the summer with multiple parties changing addresses.

then that begins to make more sense but with kruger's injury that makes it more unknown. also regarding that any word on what the cap might be? usually bettman releases a potential cap number at some point later in the regular season. Has that happened yet or am I missing something?

You compared to Pens, not 2010 Hawks. 2010 Hawks were much tougher and more physical this team. 2010 Hawks were NOT super fast, they were fast in spots, but then would knock your ass out in other spots (Ladd, Brouwer, Buff, Eager).

2010 Hawks nothing like any Hawks team since. 2013 may have been "better" ,but that 2010 team was a mix of a whole lotta shaking going on.

- kwolf68

For sure kwolf.....I remember the 4 game sweep of the Sharks in the WC final. They really dominated play for 240+ minutes (forgot how long Game 3's OT was). That may have been the best team or at least top 5 of the last 15 yrs or so in the NHL.

Ask Leaf fans about Panik. Ask Wing fans about Jurco. Just saying.

Lazar was drafted above both of them. I am not making a qualitative statement about Lazar either.

Just adding some perspective.

- John Jaeckel

Jurco has only played one game for the Hawks. I liked what I saw, but I'm not gonna go and say he's gonna be a staple in the lineup just yet.

No you are misremembering.

Buff, Toews, Kane. Super fast. Super good. Cause Buff can skate in case any didnt know.

Hossa, Sharp, Kopecky (lol kopecky). Again lot of speed, especially in Sharp and Hossa.

Ladd, Bolland, Verbeauty. Pretty decent get up, all of those guys could score.

That team relentlessly pursued the puck in the neutral zone, had three lines that could make other teams pay and were only 4 defenders deep. They played fast and they played hard like the Penguins did the last time around.

This group doesn't have a bowling ball but with some more speed they can be a nightmare for other teams to match up against, score a crap ton of goals and be entertaining to watch.

I assume you mean the Hawks would reduce THEIR cap hit by an additional $3MM - NOT that the cap would be REDUCED by $3MM.

I don't think the league could survive that....

Stan is offering few if any chips of value if his current sales pitch has McNeill and Pokka as the bait.

I'm prepared for the "we like our team" presser at the end of the TDL.

2010 Hawks were a perfect combo of speed, size and skill. With no Cap who knows how many Cups they win with better goaltending (which was on its way with Crow). Comparing this team to that one is laughable though. This team needs another line scoring. YES, Hossa's line has potential, but you can see the Hawks are not sure there given the recent move for Jurco, who is immediately slotted into that spot. That tells me they are concerned with scoring depth.
