The "Lord of No Rings" Jim Nill really swindled the Hawks in paying Sharp 12mil - who's missed 30+gms in his 2 seasons there....qnd is damaged goods now. Oh...amd DAL is a dumpster fire

Enjoy McNeill, Johns, Niemi and the rest of the Hawks Rockford rejects

I know he is Johnny Oduya a two time cup winner with the Hawks...... But what if all you were told was that you were getting a 35 year old dman, who was playing 18 minutes per game, in 37 games, had 1 goal and 6 assist, was a minus 2, and had only played 1 game since missing 40 days because of an ankle injury. You traded a former 1st round pick and a 4th round pick which could turn into a 3rd and he is bringing a cap hit of $1,875,000. Just another way to look at it.

Especially since TVR didn't go the other way

2-7
4-27
51-57

or some permutation of that looks mighty fine

Just can't have enough "reasonable options" at the D position come playoff time, as we saw last year.

Pretty favorable deal, hope JO is 100%
- John Jaeckel

He played 18+ minutes in his first game back on Sunday and was slotted to be in the lineup tonight before the trade went through - so that looks promising that he is healthy again.

Yeah I see all that.. but a vet d man is better than no vet d man, especially if he's familiar with Q's system.

Also, only a minus 2 playing top pairing for DALLAS is a miracle.

Anything to keep Rozy from playing every night. You know it could come to that. Rookie mistakes are so costly for defensemen. (See Jonas Gustaffson, last spring)

With #Stars eating half of Oduya's $3.75m cap hit, #Blackhawks could still add another player(s) up to $1.1m aav w/o moving $ off roster

Who fits?

With #Stars retaining 50% of Oduya's salary #Blackhawks are left with $256,928 in projected cap space, or the equivalent of a $1.16M cap hit

Former first round pick doesn't mean anything. Alexander Daigle? Pat Falloon? We traded a middling prospect who was gone after this year anyway. For a guy who knows the system and had his best success in it.

And, if he plays great - awesome! If he doesn't they are really no worse off with this trade.

Dunno, outage shut things down for me too

Hey J......with this acquisition of 35 year old Johnny O, it would seem
that they are ALL IN for this year and realize that they have a real opportunity
to get it done again. Could they now be reconsidering the possibility
of unloading a boatload of youth for Duchene ?
Kruger, Hartman, Forsling Motte plus ??????
I'm really thinking something big may come out of
tomorrow. Washington and Minnesota are the favorites right
now, but another big addition would put the Hawks right up there
with them. Thoughts ???

The salary cap just got tighter next year thanks to all the bonus the Hawks will now have to carry forward. Not sure I like this.

Wow, Dallas is keeping 50% of Oduya's salary too. Did Bowman have some pictures of Nill murdering somebody?
