Yeah, this sounds about right. Like I mentioned earlier it seems to me that with the Rozi extension the Hawks are getting ready to deal TVR. Why not for Oduya. - hawkeytown
If they send TVR for JO I want either of these two coming with Johnny O:
Remi Elie

[21 yrs. ago]
Height 6.01 -- Weight 205 [185 cm/93 kg]

- round 2 #40 overall 2013 NHL Entry Draft
Or
Brett Ritchie

Weight: 212 lbs

I've been holed up in my home office, waiting patiently for the past two days for something to get done. Tomorrow I have a doctors appointment at 10:00 a.m. so I'm pretty sure that's when all the fireworks will happen. |

It's been way too quiet on the JJ front. Hopefully he bring us some good news shortly.

Ritchie would be nice. He's had a good year so far. 10 goals, 8 helpers and plus 13.

If they could get CO to retain enough salary, I wouldn't mind seeing the Hawks pick up Iginla to RW on that bottom line, not that I mind Hinostroza though. I think they'd do it for TVR. |

If we get Rundblad back, will we still have enough cap space for Malkin and Duchene? |

Late last night 93Joe was hinting at a possible deal between the Hawks and Canucks...Bo Horvat's name was mentioned and that along with all the talk of necessary C depth got me digging. Here's a list of centers that may be nice additions to the bottom 6, but obviously come with their warts:
Tyler Bozak: 14G/25A, 56.0 FO% but doesn't really play on the PK and not sure if TOR would want to part with him anyway as it looks like they're gonna be in the tourney. Remaining cap hit is $933,333 according to CapFriendly and his cap hit for one more year would be $4.2m.
Brandon Sutter: 15G/12A, 55.8 FO% and 53.9 FO% on the PK. Just 28 yrs old and 6'3" although only 190 lbs jeezzz. Remaining cap hit is $972,222. Problems may arise next year with his cap hit being $4.375m, but I'm with those that say figure out next year NEXT YEAR.
Travis Zajac: 13G/26A, 54.8 FO% and 53.8 FO% on the PK. I've always liked Zajac's play. He's got playoff experience in which he's performed pretty well in. His remaining cap hit is $1,309,722. The Devils aren't making the playoffs this year, so any idea why there hasn't been more talk with the Devils by Bowman? I feel like they have some players to like. Again the problem would come next year with his $5.75m cap hit.
John Mitchell: 2G/2A, 54.4 FO% and not much PK time (only 43.8 FO% out of 32 FO). His remaining cap hit is $410,000 and he is a UFA after this year - really the only reasons I would be interested as his basic stats (I didn't get into the CF%, shot suppression, possession, etc) aren't that appealing, at least to me.
Bo Horvat: 18G/22A, 51.5 FO% and 47 FO% on the PK. Heavy body with some speed and YOUNG. From what I've watched, he likes to play in front of the net which the Hawks could use. I'm not sure why the Canucks would trade him as there seems to be potential for growth, but if so I think the Hawks should be all over that. Plus it will appease those that want a Triple H line. His remaining cap hit is $198,704 and will be an RFA after this season.
Anyway that was a lot of stats and rambling, but I'd like to hear from you guys if you think any of these players should be ones that the Hawks target before 3pm ET tomorrow or if there's other I didn't think of.

No. Salary will need to be cleared.
Look for Hossa, Tootoo, or Rozy to be traded. E3. |

My understanding is Jannik Hansen will not accept a trade to @CanadiensMTL. Perhaps another eastern market, but not the #Habs. #Canucks

Kevin Weeks- I get the sense there's a chance @DallasStars Oduya could be heading back to @NHLBlackhawks . @NHL @NHLNetwork 🥅 |
|
|
|
Common Oduya, the more I think about it the more he will help, Kempny just not ready yet for top 4 work, Campbell has lost his initial burst, TVR solid#6, Oduya would slot all the dmen in there proper places, make it happen Stan |

Darren Dreger reports the Ottawa Senators have an offer of a second-round pick for young forward Curtis Lazar, but they want a better offer to move him by the deadline.
Dreger also believes Winnipeg Jets winger Drew Stafford could be dealt tonight or tomorrow. |

Also pointing something out about Chara because I haven't seen much in the comments (could be because I'm blind)
While his cap hit this season is 6.9 mil, next season it is only 4 million. Some pre 13 CBA rule for over 40 contracts that was made post front loading contracts (hossa, keith, loungo, parise, suter, etc.) so thats interesting to say the least. I'd approve whole heartedly.
As for those in Illinois, good luck with the storms and stay safe. |
