So how are we feeling about this western swing, boys? Aim for 4 pts?

It'll be a good test to see what we're made of for sure.

I have a feeling we are going to get destroyed. Is that my natural Leaf skepticism kicking in?

I was thinking Marner for Daniel Carcillo
- Matthews_Auston

I like it, but I'd rather not subtract from the current roster.

Anything more than 2 points will be a bonus. They can't go 0 for 3

Leafs take Filppula and get there 2nd round pick back and a prospect.

Then trade Filppula to Calgary for Wideman and a 2nd round pick or prospect with 2m retained next year.

- BorjeFan4Ever

Did somebody say to get Filpulla and trade Bozak...?

Marner could use the bag of pucks to do bicep curls/ extensions, squats, bench press, etc. Put on a few ounces of muscle...

Definitely. But we should have all hands on deck at least hopefully Marner's injury won't make him too tentative and he can play the way he was before he got hurt.

not what I meant....

I was suggesting taking Fillupulululula and getting paid our 2nd (from the Boyle deal) back... and a d prospect for a another Marlies forward prospect....

then dumping Fillupululululula to Calgary with some salary retained for Wideman for more picks.

Wideman goes to Robidas Island. Lou buys two drafts picks and maybe a prospect.

somebody else mentioned trading Bozak for a bag of pucks and a prospect.

you would have to use those little pucks that the little kids use.

Marner is too small to play in the NHL

Meh...he's only a prospect.
They got more jam and douchebag for really just a prospect....which is what they needed.

- Fakepartofme

honestly, they probably need to tear it down. They've got no shot at the cup, and very few futures worth a damn. Last thing they need to be doing is trading what little they have for a washed-up douchebag.

Addition by subtraction. Honestly, I have been okay with Bozak in the past, but he seems to have lost a step or something this year. Looks slow and invisible most nights... without Marner, where would him and JVR be?

probably... but it will be interesting to watch them flail around for few years... with Bobby Ryan's contract, Phaneuf's contract and having to re-sign Karlsson.

Ownership will flip the we don't have money switch again somewhere in there...

strangely reminds me of the Ballard years mindset.

I know.

I can't wait for that lasting feeling of impending doom to go away.

I'm still shaking my head in disbelief we have elite prospects/young talent on this team.

Hyman is not as bad as some on here like to think.

He's had 11 assists on Matthews even strength goals (Matthews has 26 Even strength goals) - 8 of which are primary assists.

All of his 16 assists are on even strength goals.

Has 8 goals, 5 on even strength and 3 on the PK.
And he's been part of the successful PK for the Leafs.

Might not be a 'typical' 1st line guy, but Hyman and Matthews works out well on the same line.
