Leafs had 3 second round picks in this draft, trading 1 away isn't going to kill this team. Froese is nothing.

We make the playoffs we need a vet with solid playoff experience to help the kids out and keep them calm.

I'm not sure what there isn't to like about this trade. Matthews, Kadri, Bozak, Boyle is pretty strong down the middle.

You will probably appreciate a bit of size when Leafs face a couple of the Western giant teams like SJ, Anaheim and LA. Boyle is not a fourth liner, Martin - who plays a useful role on Leafs plays an average of 8:46 a game this year, Boyle has averaged 13:42 per game this year.

Marner, Kapanan, Brown and Sosh are nice on the right (assuming Kapanen can translate to the NHL).

Weak on the left though (assuming JVR gets traded I'm the offseason)
Hyman, Lipstick and Martin. I'd rather just two of those and find 2 more LWers.

Goalchie should be fine.
