I've loved how the Goat has looked but man I kinda want to resign Boyle now. He took 3y/$6m at 30, so I'd bet you can get him again for that at worst.

Has the conditions of the 2nd Rd pick been real eased yet?

Im assuming if he re-signs or leafs make playoffs otherwise it's a 3rd maybe.

I think its the highest of the leafs two remaining 2nds. as in later of the two, since the middle one went in the Andersen trade.

Kadri isn't untouchable. KAdri is awesome in his current role and his value has never been higher. However, he is third on the long term depth chart behind Nylander and Mathews. If the leafs can get a top pairing defensemen in return for him he could be dealt.

I don't think you land the defensemen you need, by trading Bozak. His value isn't as high. I'm not sure what you get in return for Bozak that makes him worth dealing. Leafs really don't need anymore prospects/picks. They need a top 4 dman.

I think the Leafs already traded a conditional draft pick for Anderson. So the condition might be based on what other pick they're giving up.

Kadri isn't untouchable. KAdri is awesome in his current role and his value has never been higher. However, he is third on the long term depth chart behind Nylander and Mathews. If the leafs can get a top pairing defensemen in return for him he could be dealt.

Kadri is as untouchable as Rielly imo. Great contract on a great player. He won't even be discussed unless it's a top-2D man. He's not worth that-but to us he is. Nylander won't be a center either imo.

You don't need a Sidney Croseby to play 4th line minutes.
You need a guy who can win face offs, and not get scored on every shift. That's it.
Both Gauthier and Smith fit this bill.
Boyle is better no question, but the leafs didn't waste a second round pick to replace Ben Smith.

Smith is on the wrong side of the puck more often than not, isn't a great skater, is a FO specialist sporting a 51% and just plain doesn't have any redeeming qualities.

I'm so sorry..
but Smith needs 1 more game in order to meet expansion draft criteria..

I found the only thing he did ok was being on the right side of the puck...he just wasn't strong enough anywhere else. JMO
