Adding to that rarely hear anyone citing the Habs as a team they want to go to.
I see nothng much to change that other than Price if at all. Boring & lacking offense.
Habs wanting all things being bilingual & mostly French is unattractive to many.

If traded I hope Hansen gets a top prospect.
Either that or wait it out til the offseason & before the e-draft.

100% agree but a hockey player may have other reasons.
High taxes & maybe hockey related concerns.

wouldn't it be better to deal him now instead of waiting risking injury would hate to see his value go down

Preferably but forcing a trade may not get top value.
Gotta weigh the options out.
Injury factor is not in play IMO

There is no immediate need to jettison Hansen in a rash move that is panicky to simply make a trade. The TDL is not the last deadline to have tunnel vision on.

Totally. And with burrows moved, fans are appeased.

I'd like Hansen and miller moved, but not necessary

I think its the best time to force other teams to pay up hence the burs trade I feel like its in our best interest to move him now unless he is just going to be difficult and block everything jb brings his way

At last - I am able to get in and post today's new blog!

Thankfully, nothing major has happened since I got it written this morning...I think...

Prices aren't going to get better but Hansen is still a very valuable player for this team. I have absolutely no problem with Benning getting the return he wants or nothing at all.

Hansen makes every line he plays on better and is one of few forwards on the team willing to engage physically.

We all go on n on about asset management a lot here.
So JB has done that so far & not made deals that fetch not much.
No homeruns but still improving our talent pool has occurred.
Like he said working the phones to make deals that improve us.
Some don't totally agree with his approach but he does show he's no pushover.

If you plan to trade him, I think there is a little pressure to get it done now. The Canucks have 21 games left, if Hansen gets hurt again, or his injuries from this past season hinder his performance the rest of the way it could damage his return.

It seems unlikely that it would damage it much, but I didnt think Vrbata would go from $5m/year contract to $1m for one bad season. With prices being as high as they are right now, with the focus on winning, I'd personally want to try and take advantage of it before their focus changes on expansion draft posturing

2 factors...
I agree to force a good return
Hansen has to sign off if not on his 8 team list.

You gotta laugh at the folks who paid 20 bucks to see the site crash every year at the TDL & free agency.
