Also, the fact that Benning fixed his only real shortcoming --- not getting a 2nd last season --- was a bit of magic. Burrows literally was traded for a 2nd. No matter what happens, that was some good GM'ing.

Or JB had no offer worth pulling the trigger on & held his ground considering the circumstances at the time. JB seems consistent in his trading.

I think it could also be said that there was a bidding war for him from Eastern Teams.

I can't believe he has been offered a 2 year extension. Is that signed? Or just proposed?

Watching Burrs press conference. Very respectable that he was so willing to help the nucks out however he could, sounds optimistic about Ottawas chances in the next couple years

Thats it exactly. Nothing wrong with him.... his age and place in his own career are not conducive with moving forward with a rebuild.

However.... I would not trade any other D-man.

Mutually agreeing about Edler is good n all but he would help many other teams at their stages whether its a cup run or PO's or filling top D needs.
Teams like the Leafs would benefit from an Edler.
Pens for a cup push.
Dallas for next season & after.
Coyotes & AV's definitely in many ways.
Just a few possibles....

So does Horvat get the A now for the rest of the year?

He is tracking like a late 1st round pick in a deep draft. This is better than getting a 2nd round pick.

No too young & premature. His time will come soon enough.
I expect a vet to get the A. Goes to Hansen if not traded be my guess.

Oh yeah ----- he is very marketable and valuable to many teams in relation to their chances to "open their window"

Thats the beauty of 30 teams & parity.
Quality D holds great value & tradeable only for the right deal.
No deal is fine to wait out teams to cough up fair value.

Edler? Dman makes more sense to me despite the fact that he never speaks

Is Edler yet another player with a NTC or NMC or eats at KFC or shops at HMV?

Was listening to 1040 and they had a guy on saying he had him ranked 32 and he knows of someone who had him ranked early 20s going in to last years draft. Really like that hes a LW who can play center.

We get a top 5 pick this year and we will have very solid depth at all positions. We still lack that top end talent but it will come over the next couple years.

Ek only has a three hour old single sentence rumour of Burrows might be going to Ottawa.

Thanks Ek.

You're the best.
