Look folks! Everything at our table HAS TO GO!
We have expiring contracts galore. Take one home. If it still stinks just push it out the back door with the side of your foot. No Muss. No Fuss!
On the back end we have former puck movers and former stay at home guys. Look at this dude in our bargain basket... might be a player going forward. He was good last year and last year ain't that long ago. Grab him while he fits your budget.
Goalies? We have goalies. Take 'em for a test drive. They aren't even hurt. Look at 'em walking around impregnating stuff like GGA, Sv% and your neighbor's cat.
Up front we have a wide variety of pluggers in all shapes and sizes. One will surely plug your hole. These items are all half price. If they moved any quicker they'd be 3rd line gems.
Get 'em while they're here. We'll flip the table on this season in just a few short days. If you play us in the last twenty games get your Former Flyer Flyer Killer right here while supplies last.
Little overly dramatic dontcha think... I thought that was my job. |

Maybe I have the orange shades on but I think MDZ and Streit are better D-Men.

In a little over 16 months, Kucherov will be signing an eight year extension at close to $9m AAV. - Feanor
Yeah, he'll be fine. It's more that Yzerman was in a bind and got to Richard around for long enough until he got Kucherov for pennies to help their current cap situation. If another GM wanted, they could have put Yzerman's feet to the fire. Instead, they all took turns giving foot massages so they can get a lot of other players off the books by then.
And we'll see if he gets 9. Stamkos got 8.5 and Hedman 7.8. So he'll probably get another discount. |

Bishop deal was pretty horrible though. When you see guys like Frederik Andersen get a 1st and 2nd last summer......that's what happens sometimes when you wait. Market changes. Tbf, they went in thinking they could win a Cup this year before nightmare scenario occurred. It's not as bad as a bubble team holding onto depreciating assets.
Boyle though for what could be a top 45 pick is pretty good. Toronto actually had a deal for Bellemare for their 1st, but Hextall and Hakstol declined. - Mononoke
Seems like teams don't really trade 1sts for goalies unless they plan on making them their franchise guys.
Based on Yzerman's negotiating history and Bishop's perceived availability, I feel confident that he got the best deal he could. Bishop isn't really having a good season
Also, it seems like teams are more receptive to giving up more when they trade for a goalie in the offseason. |

Stevie explained that it was the only offer he had (not sure if true) and that the move allows them to pay all bonuses this year, which could help them with flexibility.
It really isn't much of a trade at all for TBL, but he wasn't getting resigned anyway so whatever. Helps them tank and Bishop had a NTC |

Johnathan Dahlen for Burrows is less believable than Kapanen for Boyle, but it actually happened.

Why not? None are in the plans for next season. Why not get an asset for any player who won't be re-signed? - PLindbergh31

Makes you wonder what Ottawa would have paid for Simmonds or Schenn. - Feanor
Honestly, I don't care. Simmonds and Schenn are doing what I expect of both and I think Schenn at 25 can still get better. If Giroux doesn't hold together the next two seasons, it would be nice to have a respectable Captain, which I think Simmonds could be. |

We're trading both. You need to come to grips with it. Accept it. |
