Considering they kept Vrana, it's a good trade for them. I'm shocked they did TBH. That team is stacked head to toe. They're Cup or bust. - Mononoke
My friend told me they got Shattenkirk and I thought he might be gone.
I may have just been thinking about that hilarious Erat press conference they did though |

Weak draft though, so all these picks are useless |

Since we know pro teams pay for all the guys equipment...do you think anyone's been yelled at for breaking too many sticks? |

A lot of good players available just no generational talent. The first round will produce some good players especially in the top ten which is where this team will be drafting. |

Streit totally seems like the type of guy the Rangers love to overpay for at the deadline. That would be a fun trade. |

Yeah, I have my favorites in the top 5-10. I have my favorites elsewhere in the 1st and 2nd. Another great thing about picking so high, is that they also could get a top 40 pick as well. And if they trade some guys and get another 2nd and 3rd, who knows, maybe they can trade back into the 1st. It's at that point where the depth is rock solid; trading up is not a bad idea if they target someone.
Back in 2015, the Flyers -- though they traded up for Konecny using that 29th and 60th pick -- should have had the 37th pick too, where Brandon Carlo was taken. Except it was traded as part of the MacDonald trade. Those are valuable. |

With a lot of guys already moved teams will get desperate as the deadline approaches. Streit will be moved. There are still teams that want defensive depth. |

Here's how I see it re deadline deals:
Streit: 95% chance he gets moved
MDZ: 90%
A goalie: 75%
Schultz: 50%
Bellemare: 50%
Any core player: 10% |

It should have been done when it became apparent that the Top 9 wasn't scoring enough - AllInForFlyers
That kind of trade has to actually be available.

So if that is the case, then there are no plaudits to be given to the management team that stands pat when the NHL roster they built is cratering
They might be good in 3-5 years. They might not. Doing nothing but waiting isn't going to guarantee it, one way or the other
You either hit on picks, hit on a FA signing, hit on a trade. But only using one of the three avenues available to you when other franchises are using three is not the way to go, imo - AllInForFlyers
It's about timing in my opinion. How do you truly know what weaknesses you're going to have a few years ahead, and how your players are going to develop? Now is not the time for the Flyers to make depth trades.
There is a structure. Build through the draft, supplement with trades and free agency. Flyers aren't in the supplementing stage yet. |

Rental values are up and now shatty is off the market things should pick up with ufa's. Teams don't want to add more years of players they trade for to have to protect due to expansion draft. I'm hoping hextall doesn't wait too long to pull the trigger on his ufa's when teams are looking to add that missed out. Montreal, Ottawa, rangers, pens, flroida are just some of the teams just in the east looking to add. Chicago in the west needs vet d. Plenty of places to move players right now. |

I would be much more surprised to see a big trade than I would to see no one traded at all.. |
