I can say no to both of those unproven commodities. Kane projects to bea 50 - 60 goal man over an 82 game schedule. Kane isa rare bird, he skates, hits, creates space, isgreat along the boards, goes to the dirty area and scores goals. Developing talent in the NHL isn't any GM's goal, they want talent that's NHL level talent on the team. No GM wants to ice a half AHL team in the NHL.

This is some funky math. But I like it

I don't know if this dude is serious or is just playing around now...

Next he is going to tell me he wouldn't trade Evander Kane straight up for Tarasenko

I still remember when Steve Ott said "maybe we could be buyers" before the trade deadline in one of the tank years
- chilliard77

To think people wanted to sign him for four million dollars a year and Jamie mcginn

Over 82 games this year, Kane would be on pace for 34 goals.

Pretty, pretty good. Problem is him playing 82 games is as likely as him scoring 50-60 real goals

Idiot...your math is wrong. You can only use his last 10 games to do the calculation....

Gosh....

Hasn't happened yet. And I don't see it ever happening. He is an interesting player. A streaky scorer. But his goals never scream pure-goal-scorer to me. Tarasenko. Laine. Ovechkin. Those are the types of guys who will THREATEN 50 these days. But you fear them when they are in the offensive zone. Kane? You wonder what he's gonna do because he's kind of unpredictable if there isn't a clear shooting chance. He doesn't play well will others, doesn't seem to have the offensive awareness to create and set up plays. He's more of a masher with a shot. I just don't think his game translates to long-term, consistent success.

If he's healthy he's getting you a solid 20-25 goals. That's good. So does Radim Vrbata.

Let's not treat Kane like he's the American Bald Eagle of hockey players

No I agree. He's a useful player. And like I said earlier, I'm torn on what I would want to do with him. I think we are seeing the type of player he could be. Does it get much better than this? Probably not much. So what's more useful for this team moving forward? We have NOTHING on defense outside of Risto and McCabe and the hope that Guehle develops and fast. So Kane is the guy I would move to try and speed that up...considering we have some talent coming up front. I hate going back to the Oilers all the time...but they moved Taylor Hall for Adam Larson!! And the team improved drastically. Having a solid backend that can get the puck out of our end and up to our forwards in an efficient manner will make up for the loss of his production in my opinion.

his value was set, so is kuli and franson. Neither have done particularly well and Kulikovs case hes dealing with lingering injuries. Would not be surprised if he was still here after the deadline because they simply didnt get any worthwhile offers.
