Another really really weird flick is the Vanishing point.
Jfitz would probably hate it. No studio would fund it today, but im glad it exists.
the band Primal Scream wrote an entire album about it.

They actually remade Vanishing point in the 90's with Viggo Mortensen and Jason Priestly.

They did that in a lot of car movies in the 70s/80s
Stunts had to all be done with little to no effects,
So they'd constantly ruin vehicles
Lots of times could only do a take or 2 of a particular scene bc of it

the Road Warrior is a great example of this. I'm biased, as it's my favorite movie.
its another one that i think is really unique in that it was pretty low budget, the main character has like, 13 lines of dialogue in the whole movie, it ends in a (semi) tragic manner, and won a bunch of awards.

Vanishing point is just a weird movie. probably best viewed under the influence of "herbal supplements" I think it might get boring if one is waiting on action to happen.

its really sad when they remake films like this and they just dont go anywhere....
Like "any which way but loose".....whats the point? I hate hollywood. Just pay real writers to write real new stories. The walking dead is a great example of how they can find talent and stories out there. they just need to share the money with the writers when their stories take off. And they dont want to.

I was just at Alberta tonight after I bought cat food and there were 4 really good looking girls at the checkout. And I think I saw maybe 12 people total when I was there.

Its generating income though.
its definitely new for TV.
AMC gambled on it and they hit the jackpot.
Much better gamble than reality TV or making the same, dumb family sitcom that has been going on since the Honeymooners in the 1950's

Bullitt as a whole kind of sucks. It's slow as (frank), even the chase takes like 45 seconds to get going.

Its generating income though.

making a TV show out of a comic book produced by a pretty small time comic company was a leap, but its a leap I'd like to see more networks take rather than remake "every which way but loose" which I dont remember very well outside of the monkey. I think Hollywood must have some formula where as long as one out of 10 remakes makes money, they're in the black. But it makes for bring entertainment.
