Agree that PA or someone of that calibre would be a good safe move for cgy. But am I alone on still feeling like Elliot is just not working as the starter on this team? Sure he's played okay these past few games, but I'm still cringing everytime the opposing team shoots the puck. He still looks so uncomfortable in goal and uncoordinated at times. From what I've seen he's been getting lucky these last couple games, and is soon due for another upsetting run of loses with a consistent array of bad goals. Hell we're 50 games in and he's been terrible all year. Now all of a sudden he's played 4 okayish games and we're all shifting to "ya this is the guy, stick with him".
I'm still loving Johnston. There is something about this guy that if he was given an ounce of confidence from the coaching staff and city that other goalies in the league get, and was allowed to play through a couple rough games, he'd be a solid tender. If anything, keep Johnston as your back up and trade for MAF. If he works out, you've got your tender already tested for next year. If not you know you have Johnston to fall back on, and he certainly won't be worse then Moose currently is. I know you'd need to sell something for MAF, but I think the risk is worth it.

So the theory is that SY took less in a trade for his star goalie just to screw over the GM in Calgary because of their secret feud that nobody knows about??? HMMMMMM

I don't think there's really a market for goalies this year
