I saw a story today that Yzerman stated only LA called about Bishop??? Seems rather odd and why would he jump? Unless he has a big deal in the works and desperately needed the cap space now it doesn't seem to make sense, especially for the return.

I'd rather try and sign (Bishop or...) after the season. Maybe he'll play well enough, get signed by LA and Quick will be available?

Hear Yzerman is a real c0cksucker & was pissed at Tre for not going ahead with deal last draft & took less from LA who we are competing with for playoffs. Kinda what happened with Bruins & Dougie. If thats true fck him. LA can't play both in the same game unless they are getting lit up.

Still a few guys that can crash. Ferland, Engelland, Bouma, Stone, Brouwer. It'd be nice to get a player of Johnsons caliber to play alongside Mony and Johnny. Ferlands doing a good job this stint on the first line but, in my opinion, he's still slotted better as a 3rd line winger.

If that's true, then (frank) him - Tre didn't pull the trigger because Bishop wanted a ridiculous contract, which the Flames couldn't afford. If Stevie got his panties in a wad over that, he's a bad businessman and shouldn't be in the role he's in...

Good on Tre for taking a pass and knowing there is a shot in FA with no compensation to have to pay. And yeah, LA pulling that trade tells me one thing, Quick isn't 100%, so IF they make the playoffs, they have a hedge in case of injury, and if not, they can at least play out the string in a spoiler role without risking their #1.
