Everyone is permitted to have their own opinion.
There were a lot of guys though on here that last year were still big supporters of Neon Dion before he got traded - same guys that now are the first to make fun of Phaneuf and say it was a great trade for the Leafs.
I was always very much favoring Leafs trading Phaneuf, as well as I am now trading Gardiner. Obviously you can all say/think I'm crazy, but IF Gardiner is traded by the Leafs, at least be consistent in a year from now in your views and opinions. - MaximusAurelius

That's a pretty scathing insult, to be honest... |

That game was a bloodbath. I heard they had to sew Shaw's head back on after the high-stick. |

He's not a superstar like Matthews. He's a 1st line winger who's going to score 30 goals and 60 points regardless of who he's playing with. - Santo_44
He can put up points. But still easy to play against. I don’t think he’s going to be worth the $6M-$6.5M he can get in a couple years. |

Yeah teams seem to have a really easy time stopping him from scoring...
He's not a complete player. The vast majority of the NHL isn't. You don't trade a player just because he isn't one. |

Teams also find a way to score pretty easily when he is on the ice.
The leafs for once are actually trying to a develop a culture here imo. Guys who are difficult to play against, with or without the puck.
I just don’t see him fitting that culture. And too old to change his ways at this point.

i don't blame minny for going all-in this year. suter, parise koivu etc. aren't getting younger and dubnyk has been great.
seems like a good year for them to go for it. - Tumbleweed

they have a ton of depth and size up and the middle with adding hanzal. going to be a tough matchup for anyone in the playoffs with staal, koivu and hanzal all 6'3" plus. |

Time will tell. I think speed kills these days. Pit will be hard to beat come playoff time. |

I could see the Leafs still kicking tires on Shattenkirk. If St. Louis wants draft picks perhaps the Leafs can give up a couple of 2nds. Make one a conditional 1st if they can resign him. Other pieces would be included of course. Just something to mull. |
