Yep.
But I only think a top4 d-man makes sense.
Leafs have about 6 5-6-7 d-men, and not too sure there are too many options around that could actually mean an improvement over the current group

I think Babcock likes Polak-Hunwick too much to have a player taking their place that only be a marginal improvement over them.

Looking at top4 d-men that might be available since team out of playoffs and potentially being lost in expansion draft:

Dan Hamhuis.
and [maybe - if you consider him top4] Thomas Hickey.
EDIT: and maybe Dmitri Kulikov

But the 5-6-7 Dmen we have...simply arent good. Id like to upgrade those.
I think a top 4 will be too expensive right now. Not sure Lou and the boys would do that now.
But who knows

I think it says a lot though when you have the most OT/SO losses in the league..

The Leafs don't have enough finish. And thats 100% because of the youth. Our OT record isnt terrible, but we are 1-7 in shootouts... With the skill on this team you'd think we'd be better..

Maybe Babs isn't giving them enough time to practice shootout moves.

Absolutely. I don't know about the practice issue, but they seem to lack confidence there (perhaps perpetuated by the fact that Freddie has a poor Sv% of 0.500 in the Shootout)...

4th line C who can play up in the lineup.Guy who can get 15-20 goals.

I love the addition (i.e. the subtraction of Smith, and the addition of a real quality defensive 4th line C)... as long as the cost is reasonable

If we gave up Ben Smith, we just won the power ball...
