Not noticeable. But...it was his first game.
- tompo1015

I noticed him. He drove the net a few times and carried the puck well. That entire line was the least noticeable, but they did well defensively. Jurco could pan out well, he's got the tools.

A couple of things. I would love Boyle. That guy has been a winner back to his BC days. Also, I didn't see the game last night, how did Jurco look?
- acmidd28

Jurco skated 12+ minutes all at 5 on 5 with Hossa and Kruger/Kero, had very good fancy stats, played a measured game, skated well, showed solid quick hands and size, was positionally unsure at times but floated to the middle of the ice when that happened as he should, parked in the crease not getting nudged out, solid wall play, didn't show any nerves.

A no mistakes game that they won as he gets acclimated. This fan was satisfied and I zeroed in on his every shift.

When did that happen? Hadn't heard about him being injured in Rockford.
- walleyeb1

Two nights ago. He got tangled up and was helped off the ice with either a knee or ankle injury

I don't mind the idea of Oduya...but people should know it will bump Kempny, not TVR - being he plays the left side

Good to see he's playing. Motte is one of the prospects I could see being moved in a deal.

If he can be had, I hope the Hawks get him. Let Hjalmarsson get as much time to rest and recover as possible. While the blue line unit is significantly better than the one from the 2016 playoffs, I don't think that it will hurt to beef it up even more. The thought of TVR and Roszival potentially playing in a seven game series scares me. Roszival looks completely done. TVR is what he is- a 5th/6th defenseman. Bringing in Oduya would be a nice addition IMO.
- frafra

Yes he would........... just not for Hartmann, Schmaltz, Forsling, Fortin or Debrincat. These are your top 5 young and future kids IMO. I'm real leary about Stan doing business with Nill again. How about Stan fleeces him this time around, maybe insist on Roussel in the package. He would be loved here in Chicago.

Yeah, I notcied similar and am hoping this turns into one of those sneaky good moves by Stan.

He made a nice play with his stick to break up a play too and playing defensively sound should help keep in him in Q's lineup.

JJ,
Are we talking LTIR cautious here? If so, that creates quite a bit of dollars, no?

- furso27

Not sure LTIR helps here UNLESS Hjalmarsson doesn't come back until the play-offs start - like Kane 2 years ago.

Unless Kruger's injury is almost healed and he will be back to 100% by the playoffs, I agree the Hawks need a PK faceoff guy. I've heard McClement and Mitchell's names mentioned but neither are having a good year at the dot.

McClement: 48.4% total - 45.1% on PK
Mitchell: 54.4% total - but only 43.8% on PK

It doesn't sound like P.A. Parenteau's absence from the #NJDevils skate this morning is related to a trade. Stand down.

If what I'm hearing about hot pursuit of Oduya is true, Hawks are being extra cautious with Hjalmarsson or his back is pretty bad.

Also, I would expect some smaller add of like a Jay McClement in addition to Oduya, if they can make the dollars work.

Hammer LTIR thoughts there JJ, ala Kane '15 Clavical??

The play of Kero and Darling gives Bowman options in the summer. Crawford and Kruger could be on the move. (If they can find someone willing to take Kruger.)

Kruger and Hjalmarsson need to be given enough time off to return to 100% at least 5 to 10 games before the playoffs. With the pickup of Hanzal and White it is unlikely the Hawks are going to catch them n the standings. With a 12 point lead over Nashville it is unlikely the Hawks will fall to 3rd in the division.

It would be great if they could add a 4/5 Dman and/or a 3C and/or a 2/3/4/LW (depending on where they see Schmaltz).

The Hawks 1st round pick this year is likely at the end of the 1st round. Any player you draft with it is probably 3 years away from making the team. If you need to include it to get Duchene you need to consider it. Would you trade Motte, Pokka, a 1st in 2018 and a 2nd in 2017 for Duchene? I would.

- -Doh-

AHHHH YES !! Sakic would NEVER go for this. He will insist on Hartman or Schmaltz or both...Plus. Kruger and Forsling would have to be included I would think. Joe want a young Dman and I'd hate to give up Forsling but for Dutch ??
I'd be ok with it. Stan will have to make a lot of moves in the summer to work that cap......... but he does have flexibilty with Crawford and other high salaries.
situation yet again.

This will be how we get a salary cap in the playoffs. I know fans will have an aneurysm about it, i could imagine owners wouldnt be very happy about it either.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled Adam Erne and Yanni Gourde from the AHL. The pair of forwards have each played in a handful of games for the NHL squad this season, though neither has made a huge impact. It’s an odd move for the Lightning, who didn’t have any absences from practice yesterday according to Bryan Burns of the team site.

jurco needs 10 games to be Vegas draft eligible. That, it would appear, is the main goal. If he works out better, great. He did have a little chemistry with Hoss.

Farm project at this point right now. He has skill and he has determination, but he is not helping with a cup run this year or probably next.
