Curious if Bowman is indeed being cautious to not overpay-- OR if teams are placing a premium on dealing to the Hawks-- considering the elite core-- maybe its both issues--
Its hard to understand IF Bowman wanted Boyle-- he couldn't match what Toronto gave up-- or maybe he didn't think it would be worth it-- OR something else on the burner--
We shall see-- Just like to see the Hawks upgrade in size and jam-- players tough to play against are few and far between on the Hawks--

Wonder if the Caps fleeced the Blues as badly as they did in the Oshie/Brouwer deal. - breadbag
Wouldn't be funny to see an Oshie and a first come back for Shatts?
Or Fleury, Pouliot and a number one from Pittsburgh?
|
|
|

Lol you are right!
I just am lamenting Boyle not a hawk, and loss my focus, still shell shocked by
Penguins paying a second for Hainsey.
But reality ( a third) makes thing better, not like Oduya still injured and folks calling for him to play for hammer in an emergency. - wiz1901
Oduya is back. He played 18:28 (0:43 on PK) in his first game back yesterday.

It would be funny, but I can't see it happening. I'll admit I'm curious to see what Caps gave up. I'm all for the Central getting weaker however. |

@Real_ESPNLeBrun
Shattenkirk trade has other details but main parts I believe: 1st RD pick in 2017, 2nd RD pick in 2018 and Zach Ranford going to St. Louis
@Real_ESPNLeBrun
again, there are other smaller parts in this trade plus some conditions...
Caps not giving up a roster player is good. |

Games were no where near playoff hockey , especially the Blues game, lots of shots but not a lot of much else. Wait till all the marbles are on the table come April. Schmaultz is just having a nice little run now , teams will start paying more attention to him and shu him off the puck like a little flea. Not saying he won't be better down the road but Kane or Toews he is not. Gonna let this kid grow and not drink little Hawkie Kool aid on him now. I am disappointed but accept it that Bowman, unless there is a miracle going to happen can't get Toews a Bonified NHL winger come playoff time.
Edit: Holy shart, is that Lanche/Isles deal true? I second to who ever said that is a hell of a hockey deal. Man, maybe Sharps agent heard that might be going down, he's rumored to be on their radar. Isles making a late run at it ? - wonthecup10[/quote
You? Staying away from the Kool-aid? Shocker
You should have a sip one of these days. It's actually quite refreshing.

Agree but he might not be a bad gamble for a playoff run. - Al
Hell no Al, if the Hawks are committed to these kids, then stand pat, take their 3playoff games and be happy with that. These other teams loading up. It is only my opinion that no way Q will go into the playoffs with 3-4 Rookies in his line up and expect to win, Hartman aside, Rasmussen, Schmaultz, Kempny , for sling and if I a, missing anyone are not the 16 version of Kunackle and those other kids from the Pens. Once the playoffs starts ,teams will knock those kids all over the ice and keep them to the outside.
This isn't the 10,13 or 15 version here. Now if Stan pulls a 6 foot Easter Bunny out of his rear and scores a huge deal , now it's a different Ballgame. Hearing Tom Wilson part of that Blues deal, if so, that is a good pick up for the Blues along with a couple of high picks for a guy playing hardball with the team. Shattenkirk prolly will get a ring this year, dont see much in their way to June. |

I don't think there is a different market for the Hawks more an issue of a lack of quality trade bait and unwillingness to part with better, younger-inexpensive players they will need for next season. |

I didn't mean Doan as a viable option to come here. I think if anything the Hawks may trade for a depth dman who can kill penalties.

Ummm. Blues, really?
LeBrun again:
Blues also retained some salary on Shattenkirk in the trade but it's less than 50 percent. Not sure yet of exact percentage. |
