Highest scorer of the 14/15 playoffs where they lost to us. Beat the wings, canadiens and rags on the way. I don't think thats a huge issue.

Another good point. I forgot that about Johnson.

I wonder if Montreal would be interested in trading Alex Galchenyuk. Seems like he needs a change of scenery, and plays both center and wing. Not sure how they would make up for his scoring, especially if we traded for him. Just another random thought.

Needless to say, awful timing for #mnwild...23 games in next 41 days, including 3 in next 4 without at least Parise, Pominville

What a shame.

Good thing they got those high scoring Yotes to keep them
on track.

Wrong. Recent Blues and Wild games were pretty intense. Schmaltz was terrific. Get realistic. Toews recovery from his back problems and Schmaltz's emergence as a playmaker and scorer have made that line the most dangerous in the league for the past couple of weeks. As you acknowledge, Hawks aren't getting Duchene. Nor are they getting anyone else better than Schmaltz to play on that line. Jeez!
- BMWChiFan

Games were no where near playoff hockey , especially the Blues game, lots of shots but not a lot of much else. Wait till all the marbles are on the table come April. Schmaultz is just having a nice little run now , teams will start paying more attention to him and shu him off the puck like a little flea. Not saying he won't be better down the road but Kane or Toews he is not. Gonna let this kid grow and not drink little Hawkie Kool aid on him now. I am disappointed but accept it that Bowman, unless there is a miracle going to happen can't get Toews a Bonified NHL winger come playoff time.

Edit: Holy shart, is that Lanche/Isles deal true? I second to who ever said that is a hell of a hockey deal. Man, maybe Sharps agent heard that might be going down, he's rumored to be on their radar. Isles making a late run at it ?

Garrioch said on the first intermission of the Sens game that Dorion has an offer of a 2nd rounder on the table for Lazar but thinks he can get that bumped up to a 1st. Might think about that if it was a 2018 #1.

Don't you recognize talent?! Schmaltz is already a bonafide NHL winger (and someday perhaps a center), albeit a young one. He can't prove he will perform in the playoffs, until he plays in the playoffs.

You don't break up that top line playing like they are, especially when Toews goes on and on about consistent mates.

I saw an interview with Doan after the Hanzal deal was announced....If Doan is ever going to put on another jersey it is now....He was totally disgusted, which I found hard to understand but he may finally agree to a trade.

Nice article on Darling with some comparisons to the other top goalies in the NHL. Didn't realize he'd already played 25 this year.

True.

I'm sure it's been mentioned here before, but why has Ottawa soured on Lazar?

So it's taken him this long to conclude he is playing for a rinky dink franchise and only now because they traded Hanzal? Doan has been a marginal NHL player for a few years now, he wouldn't be getting paid what he is making currently by any other team, because those teams don't play the cap floor game like Zona.

Mike Yeo Blues physicality in the playoffs is very different than Hitch. Remember Minny with Yeo as coach. The Central is not that physical. It will be a little more physical in the playoffs, but not that much.

No doctor either, but much like the flu that goes around every few years, illnesses can mutate and make previous vaccines pretty well useless. If this happens before a booster shot can be made to counteract the virus, the cycle goes on and on
- AusHawk

In the case of mumps I'm not sure it's a mutation (could be) so much as people having their kids abstain from getting the immunization.

That was the case with Pertussis or the whooping cough Al mentioned and the CDC has now determined that the immunizations administered in childhood don't confer lifelong immunity thus the need for an adult booster shot. In this case too it has nothing to do with mutations, it has more to do with the amount of antibody titers your body is able to produce.

There are vaccines like Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B that are administered and thought to confer lifelong immunity. They can prove this by administering a blood draw and measuring the amount of protective titers.

We get Malkin yet?

Hearing Quincey is garnering a lot of interest. PIT/MTL have an offer on the table per source. Other teams are interested as well.

On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Renaud Lavioe: Multiple sources are saying the Tampa Bay Lightning are not finished yet. GM Steve Yzerman is still working the phone to look at any trade possibilities.

Hopefully not the Hawks...he sucks.

I remember when people were clamoring for him here in '12 or '13 when Stan failed to grab him. I hope Stan comes up empty on him again this time around.
