Seems like some decent options.
I'd opt for Johnson, could probably sign him for the same money as Flip after RFA negotiations.
Schmaltz-Toews-Panik
Super PAK
Jurco-Johnson-Hossa (that scoring third line though)
Kero/hino/?-Kruger/kero-Hartman
Thats sure as hell 4 lines to roll |

Tampa just sold Bishop because they believe in vasilevsky, and more importantly don't need the huge cap hit of a goaltender to be FA bishop while they are trying to keep the offense intact. Seriously doubt they move for crawford IMO.
That said, I don't think the moves anything but a downgrade. Garrison is a mediocre bottom pair dman, budaj is meh and a UFA iirc, and but I would like flipper.
trim it down to kruger+pokka+? for flipper+? Leave flipper open for expansion, roll from there. - the_dough_boy
Not long ago TB seemed like they had 2- #1 goalies and now both guys might be only good #2's. Things change quickly with goal tenders...When you have one that battles, doesn't stay "off" for long and has a Cup pedigree...It's tough to give him up. |

Its gotta be Johnson or Palat that gets moved. Not both

Vaccines don't last forever in many cases..and in some situations, depending on age, you may not have been vaccinated against certain things....Whooping cough is one where it disappeared for a long time and resurfaced. My oldest son had it as an infant and it took awhile for doctor to find the issue. Actually the only way he did was my son coughed in front of him after all the blood work came back negative. - Al
Scary scenario at the time I'm sure Al for your family with your son. And thanks to all who chimed in on the subject.
The article regarding Toronto was informative. Crazy to think that old farts like me (59), who've only had one of those boosters as a kid......I was never told by any doc (and I've had a yearly physical for 25+ yrs ) to get another one. Sucks for the Wild to have those guys go down but the bigger issue is......why the hell does this only seem to happen to hockey players?
You'd think football, basketball or even baseball players would get this type of things about the same % time as hockey players.
I blame Bettman!!! |

Does anyone know if the Hawks medical staff is aware of the potential problem with mumps?
This whole situation seems ridiculous considering there's a vaccine!
From the CDC...
"Mumps can be prevented with MMR vaccine. This protects against three diseases: measles, mumps, and rubella. CDC recommends children get two doses of MMR vaccine, starting with the first dose at 12 through 15 months of age, and the second dose at 4 through 6 years of age. Teens and adults also should also be up to date on their MMR vaccination." |

It seems essential for cap purposes that the Hawks move Kruger after this year. With his injured wrist, inability to take draws, no offensive abilities and the poor performance of the PK (on which Kruger is a key member), can someone explain how they are going to be able to get rid of him?
I like both of our goalies a lot. If they decided they wanted to move CC after this year and re-sign Darling, what team(s) do you see wanting him at $6M cap hit for 3 more years? I don't see any, which is why I think our goalies are CC and Glass next year. |

Same if not more. I'd wager more just because of you could retain him for up to 8 years where duchene is only a couple years of control. If we could get johnson on a Kucherov deal itd be awesome.
That said, we would not have enough cap space for it.
Maybe Kruger+Hartman/Schmaltz+forsling+?
I don't know if its worth it, but unless duchene is coming retained its going to be a tough sell. Maybe get johnson then trade during the draft ala Saad? WILD speculation. |

3 inches and 10 pounds for duchene? I think the speed of that 3rd line would be absolutely lethal |

I was there back about 10 years ago when after one practice the players all got flu shots...That's something I think every team does regularly-No clue about mumps measles, chicken pox etc...

Al...it just seems so senseless, and avoidable. And the league just went thru this nonsense a couple years ago. Guess the NHL and individual organizations learned NOTHING.

Highest scorer of the 14/15 playoffs where they lost to us. Beat the wings, canadiens and rags on the way. I don't think thats a huge issue. |

I agree but the NHL doesn't usually mandate teams---They leave things up to the franchises but this is a time Bettman should have made it mandatory to vaccinate because it has an effect on the entire league.
