We were always going to be the finalist for SHattenkirk. What unnerves me is the fact that he is making it known that its the Rangers or nothing. When this happens and Rangers are trying to make a deal its no longer considered a rental player deal. So now the Blues will want a huge return than what they would get if he was just a rental. - gRockArmy
If thats the case, fug the Blues, they can enjoy getting nothing for him. |

The asking price when a NY team is in the market is always higher for them then for others. It is what it is. They have to weigh risks vs rewards and who/what they are comfortable with giving up

...or, they can lose him for nothing after they don't win the Cup.
They will take what we offer and they will like it!!!!! |

It's gonna be something like a 1st, klein and Gropp. Or that's as far as the rangers will go. Sounds like they want a major piece like Miller or Buch. I don't see the Rangers going there |

The only reason I can see a Shattenkirk trade being a problem is the expansion draft unless they somehow assure him that contract will be offered after it so we don't have to expose someone else |

Gotta relax with the want for trades. Look at the standings for once. There is only one team in the NHL with more wins than the Rangers.
There is always room for improvement, but things are not that bad. Imagine where the Rangers would be if Hank and the D didn't have that brief week-long hiccup? All teams go through things like that, but man...things are not that bad here.

Well if G gets bought out it doesn't matter too much. The only one who might hurt a little would be Holden. But with Raanta and possibly Grabs being exposed I don't think we have to worry about our defense getting picked. |

While I definitely agree things aren't bad, but the team should always look to improve. And that right side D needs serious improvement. Lets also remember we were killing teams with scoring so defense wasn't as important. Once teams tighten up in the playoffs and goals are a bit harder to come by, it will be a different story. |

If it comes down to Raanta or Grabner its a tough choice. I think Raanta could be a starter like I thought Talbot could. If we are strictly looking at value think Raanta is much more valuable. imo |

I gotta hunch Vegas picks grubauer for #1 goalie, unless he doesn't have to be protected. Regardless, I think raanta is safe imo |

Buying out G will hurt more than help, the cap isn't moving much, to carry that dead space ow makes little sense, I don't know if Vegas has to reach the cap floor year one but that might be a saving grace for the small contracts Holden, Grabner and Raanta have |

Dead cap space sucks, but G would be the only candidate and its manageable after this year. Staals is (frank)ing brutal. |

agreed but we have to solidify the D if we want a long run to the Cup, the turnovers will kill us in the playoffs, bad week and your season is over |

Yeah I don't know which other goalies are out there. Good thing if there are some that are better than Raanta. I think Raanta would hurt in the sense that the Rangers have no one to fill that role if he did get selected. |

Knights should sign Bishop and Dwight King for obvious reasons. Throw Alan Quine and a bunch of ROOKies and they have a chess board. Get a few PAWN stars to clean the ice haha |
