I honestly would have figured with Quick back it finally gives Budaj time to rest and he can fill in. LA has like 5 back to backs coming up or something like that. I would have never seen this coming. Also shows how small of value Bishop had. Bishop will have really good numbers playing in the LA system. But im still puzzled on this move.

flames were never trading for a goalie this deadline. thats a myth perpetuated by "insiders" who don't actually watch the flames

No trade call yet, but MIN and ARI are working to finalize a trade involving Martin Hanzal.

didn't Quick just come back? quite the insurance policy for the playoffs there

and wow, what a poopty return for Bishop, Lightning should have bit the bullet and taken Flames salary dumps to get the Bishop deal done at the draft last year

I really do think its more about blocking the Flames from getting him and still upgrading their back up position. Its a little weird but I sort of see the logic of it

Thats a good point. I think LA has 3 games vs the Flames left. Maybe more. And fighting for that wild card spot.

well it came down to Nashville and Minnesota and it looks like Minnesota got him (according to McKenzie and TSN) This is interesting because the Canadiens were NOT in on Hanzal and yet I know they are going to upgrade on offense...Might mean Duchene trade looking better...working on that now..

Remember. This time of year I am working the phones, talking to sources, looking for rumors. I learned long ago that it would be a full time job to ALSO monitor every story out there to see if anyone in the world has beaten me by a few seconds.
