Rather have Burrows than Gaunce there. I think Gaunce is an AHL depth player and no more.
- Retinalz

The fastest skater today at the Skills competition was Megna . How do young players get chances to grow if they get minimal time.

We will get a very good pick this year. We will have Boeser . We will trade for a top 6 player and we do have a guy like Labate and others that need an openining to grow.

Burrows Sedins Hansen had their time and their chances. I truthfully did not like the team (Old Core) for a long time. I do like some of these new guys .

Time to say bye. Did you miss Hamhuis this year? Not at all.

But consider the alternative, Miller simply walks for nothing.
It's not as though we need him to maintain our lofty position in the standings.

T.B got a great back-up, one of their better D-prospects who himself is a second rounder, a 7th and a conditional pick for an expensive UFA who they had no intention of re-signing.

That's a pretty decent move all things considered.
If Benning was offered that I'd like to think he'd have taken it especially when we could simply re-sign Miller this off-season if need be.

- Whiskey-Tango

I don't think it's about that but more about what the offer was and it could have been less if at all on Miller. You sure about that prospect's worth? Sounds like another FC. Less then Pedan. So you would be giving up a 5th rounder for him and a 7th. If goalies are a wash.

Personally I would rather bring in Boeser at 1.2 mil on ELC and let him play with Horvat instead of AB.

The mentorship did not do us good this year and will do even less next year

Heading there tomorrow morning, I'll poll the masses for Bettmanhatesus..

I'm here now. Sitting in a hotel room typing on my BlackBerry.

These people are struggling to make $700 rent let alone fill a 18,000 seat arena at $100 per seat.

Plus there is no stadium to play in. Who's going to pay for that? Alexander Keith?

Fan don't pay for hockey teams, corporate sponsors do. I'm not saying the sunbelt franchises are any good, but you're missing a fundamental point: small Canadian markets cannot compete from a corporate sponsorship standpoint.the only place in Canada that would make money is Another team in the Toronto area. All these other markets you're talking about make Winnipeg and Ottawa look like mega-profit franchises (which, I assure you they are definetly not)

I think we all agree on that, these young guy, need spots on the roster to play, we will suck in the win loss column for a few years but they will bring excitement.

While Cernak certainly isn't my cup of tea style wise, i think it's safe to say he holds more value then a 5th rounder, hence why T.B made the trade.

"Černák is a big defenseman with excellent reach and strength. Is brilliant defensively and in front of his own net. Can also play on the powerplay thanks to his hockey sense. Doesn't take a lot of penalties for a physical player. However, he could improve his skating ability."

At the end of the day, its something for nothing. Teams don't magically accumulate a series of picks and prospects through a singular move, but many such as this.

Al-Nusra's(Al-Qaeda) White Helmets getting all this recognition at the Oscars is pretty disgusting as well. Non-terrorists are doing legitimate rescue work in Syria and are getting ignored. Yet the White Helmets have been involved in all kinds of atrocities and have been exposed numerous times for who they are and what they've done and they are heroes? They are Jihadists. Their members also fight for Al-Nusra. There is no shortage of their members filmed fighting against the Gov. There is no shortage of video/pics of them conducting executions in the streets of both soldiers and civilians. They have been busted staging rescues and even had to back peddle on the one rescue that they tried to play off as a Russian attack but were then forced to play it off as a Mannequin Challenge... who the (frank) would take the time to do something tasteless and pointless like that on the front line with ordinance falling everywhere??????? Just pure BULLpoop!!!

The head of the White Helmets was denied entry into the USA last year for his links to Al-Qaeda... they are classified as a NGO, yet they received 20 mil from western powers last year... the group was founded by a British national... the CIA propaganda machine promotes them... it's a sham. The Oscars are a political sham.

I would not be surprised if Megna is resigned.

And you were correct about Hamhuis last year re walking away, i wanted to keep him.
We did not miss him this year b/c Stetch and Tryamkin (and Sbisa) filled in admirably. That was not a forgone conclusion though, and neither is someone doing what Burrows could do, but it's time to roll the dice.

How do you measure that the mentorship didn't do any good when Burrows was playing with Horvat and Baert? Or in the locker room? Or away from the rink?

I don't want Burrows back but I'm just curious?

Well, if its any consolation, the guy who directed/filmed it was denied entry into the U.S on his way to the Oscars this morning
