Bishop to LA and Hanzal to Minn.
If you get a chance, check out Shane Doan's interview after the game. He doesn't seem none too happy with the new GM.
Quick, name the Coyotes #1 center. |

My first guess was "It can't be Domi, can it?"
I just looked at the roster, I'm still unsure. |

Always failed? Allen and Elliott traded injuries last season, and Elliott was healthiest as the season wore down. Moose has had a tough season, but Allen has rebounded nicely after a tough stretch...Blues made right move to deal Moose considering the expansion draft and player movement provisions. Strong rumor is Elliott wanted to move along...at least they avoided the Penguins goalie situation by dealing one of them...they have enough to think about with Shattenkirk...

I thought the Blues played well for coming off the break.
Funny how much of a band wagon fanbase Chicago has. They start getting uppity when they think their team is good and when they think it is bad the world is ending.
This is a close league and fans often over look that. The Blues fell out of the first tier during a reload and that is ok. They are not terrible and not so far off as some think. To say letting Backes walk was a front office failure is not only short sighted hindisght, but just ignorance. Too much money and term in the cap world.
Allen is turning a corner but just being better than Elliott does not say a lot in my book as of now. He has the raw ability to be great, but I am not sure if he has it between the ears.
With what is going on in the standings, I think you have to move Shatty now. I do not believe it is a white flag. I do not think he is that much of a defensive liability either. The Blues have his spot filled right now. If the Blues would have won two more of the three they lost, you keep him unless you are blown away. |

You have to move someone with salary before the Trade deadline and he is the obvious guy to go
If he is a rental than hes a rental and I would likely ask for a pick in 2018 rather than 2017 as the draft class is rumored to be weak after the first few picks
2018 first rounder

It's not a white flag if the player reportedly wants to leave. NY wants Shatty, Shatty wants to play there. The New York Times reported yesterday that the Rangers listening to other teams inquire about Miller.
Miller for Shatty with a contract extension upon arrival. Done. |

23-year-old forward with nearly 50 points this season at $2.5 mil in exchange a defensively deficient defenseman who's probably going ask for $6 mil in the off season? I know the loss of Shatty means more lost leadership, but tat's probably the best we're going to get for him. Maybe they'd throw in a 2nd or a mid-high prospect? |

I guess the Caps will win the cup this year? Seems about right. They have enough former Blues now. I heard a 1st this year and conditional 2nd. And a prospect named Sanford. Could be wrong |

Okay he made it. But he won't stick with us either. It's something but will probably just be a 1st round pick when all is said and done and us retaining salary |

I got no problem with this deal. Letting him go allows the team to focus on the team going forward. They'll make the playoffs. They'll lose in the first round and we'll be looking at the draft and what expansion will bring.
Sanford is still an unknown quantity. He could replace Broadziak down the road or challenge Berglund for the 3c role. Gotta think Armstrong would like to see Berglund continue to mature into a 2c role, though that might be a little far fetched...
Tags Thompson & Zach Sanford. Giant centers. Hopefully, they're better than Brian Boyle. |

2019 2nd round pick - .....
they failed to mention that on nhltonight
Wow it seems that somehow it just made it a little worse even. Brad malone will never be an hl player for our team. Then we sent Copley back to them?
WTF!!! |

Ah... Shattenkirk tied the hands of Armstrong when he refused negotiating a new contract.
Blues need bodies in the AHL. Binnington must've been the preferred of the two.
Hope the Blues scouts know what they're doing... |

It's an absolute gamble whether or not either of those picks plays in the NHL. It's hard to say whether or not we should have just kept him. Picks between 25-30 have about a 15% chance to become a top-6 forward, top-4 defenseman, or better.
So weigh that against the negatives of not having him for the rest of the year. |
