Thats exactly what it means. Their inability to pick up points against teams "they should beat" or when the stakes were high is directly the result of not having roster thats good enough.

A team with this defence is never going to make the playoffs, period. That was apparent from August. The fact that they thought it genuinely could is in fact scary since the average casual fan and or media member could've identified otherwise.

How do you explain the wins they shouldn't have collected? And how do you explain that, until this weekend, even with the crappy losses, we stayed as close as we did?

Haven't back read yet, but I really am very comfortable with how the rebuild has gone. Add another piece or 2 this off-season, and we are a playoff team next year. Patience!

Well, that sucked...

Anyway, on a completely unrelated note, I'm booking a trip to Vegas and was wondering if anyone has any hotel suggestions. Currently, I'm leaning toward The Venetian, but any other recommendations would be appreciated.

Don't stay at the Golden Nugget unless you like ugly old people.

We literally have 0 good skating d-men. This GMs inability to recognise the "shift" in building a team when literally everyone else did shows either major incompetence or stubbornness. Both are fireable offences imo
- Sabresfan-365

Risto & Bogo are both good skating defensemen

I have never once considered us close to a playoff spot. With the greatness that is parity even a few points out requires a massive run and far too many teams ahead of us.

I don't know which is worse: Rivet saying that he initially loved the Kulikov trade or Peters saying that he still likes him. That guy is a tire fire.

Relative to most top 4 d-men, not really. Bogos not really a great puck mover either, like sb was saying.

Because when you're upset u can only see one side of the coin I suppose
I'm pretty bummed about how these last 2 games went...
but I also like our "core" and some of the young pieces we have on the way
I think we are headed in the right direction

Im not upset, i had 0 expectations for this team. I like the core, i like the young players.

The list of dead weight that Imthatguy posted is what has me bummed.

The Octavius tower at Caesar's is great. Cosmopolitan is also nice.

If you're looking for a good deal, the Planet Hollywood is decent but the other two are far superior.

I agree, it's easy to freak out given the last two games but we have promise and know where our flaws are.

went this summer, stayed at the MGM and liked it. Aria, caesars and Wynn are pretty nice too.
- Sabresfan-365

I'm kind of going back and forth between Signature at MGM Grand and The Venetian. Thanks for your input. I appreciate it.

I don't want to pay a crazy price, but at the same time I don't want to stay in a dump. The Venetian has a promo right now that I can get a night free with anything booked for 3 days or more, and since I'll be there for 5 nights, it's something I can take advantage of. Looking to try and keep the price under $1000 for the week (not including the really stupid resort fees that they charge you EVERYWHERE)

Are we or were we really ever that close? We came within 3 points when we had a bunch of games in hand on teams. Now that's gone and we are 4 games from a Wild Card or 3rd in the division. That's not really close in a league with this much parity

The dead weight list is an overreaction imo
For example:
Moulson has more goals than ALL of our call-ups combined

That's definitely tough to do. The promos are great.

Have you checked through LasVegas.com?

Hotels run deals on there constantly. The only tough part is if you're going during a convention/major event the prices are really high.

I would recommend somewhere in the middle of the strip

Venetian
Mirage
Paris

those are mid upscale

Harrahs
Ballys
Flamingo
Imperial Palace
if you want value

nice thing about the mirage
right across the street is mcdonalds for cheap breakfast, and a subway inside my favorite hole in the wall to gamble, casino royale

The prices from M-Thursday aren't terrible overall when I'm going. The problem is it doubles for Friday night, so that day is driving up the overall cost. I can stay at the Venetian with the promo for an average of $164 a night, so that's probably what I'm going to do. Signature at MGM Grand, the Palazzo, Vdara, Aria, and The Delano are all around that same price. Just not sure which is the better one to stay at.
