Glad eichel didn't shoot it there. Anybody who doesnt think he's elite.....,.
- turbo044

In a 4 on 2 when you're the puck carrier, you should pretty much NEVER shoot.

In a 2-1 when a D-man sprawls on the ice, you should almost ALWAYS shoot.

Pretty simple.

Unless it's a blow me away offer I agree.

Hanzel just got quite a bit as a rental.

- dadeadhead

And he only had 26pts

Actually, the Yotes only have 1 forward now that has more than 25pts
It's a wonder they've won any games at all

But I gotta say. I never once high-sticked someone, cross-checked someone, hooked someone nor slashed someone.

I will NEVER understand how a player can be so (frank)ing lazy or irresponsible with their stick to do any of those things. Move your (frank)ing feet, play the (frank)ing puck and know were your man is. Simple.

On a side note, Rodriguez needs to stay up.

- BeadyEyedDouche

I don't think you can put high sticking in the same category as the other penalties. I am a firm believer that they need to get rid of the 4 for blood penalties as well. I would 100% move to a 2 minutes unintentional penalty and a 4 minute reckless/intentional high sticking penalty.

I don't think he is nor should he be a set-up man. Dude's a straight sniper. Needs to shoot instead of trying to set guys up.
- BeadyEyedDouche

He is absolutely a setup man, he's Ryan Getzlaf, but a better shooter.

He's a shut down 3rd line centerman who's not afraid to use his body.

At the end of the day it will probably be one of the better pickups when its all said and done. He'll fit in nicely in Minny.

Nice how okposo is slashed down to the ice at his knees, right in front of ref, no call. This team can't win consistently with their so-called #1 line contributing nothing offensively
- turbo044

I think Okposo should play with Eichel & Kane

Or just make a high-sticking penalty a 4-minute double minor and a blood drawn one a 5 minute major. I'm willing to bet you'd see A LOT less high-sticking penalties and more scoring on those infractions when they happen.

The NHL can do hundreds of things to increase scoring and their solution is to make the goalies wear tight pants. Ridiculous.

Make 2 consecutive icings by the same line a minor penalty. Remove legal icing while killing a penalty. Make the red-line the offsides line. Make a slash or high-sticking penalty a double-minor. Remove the trapezoid.

Or you know, actually call an interference or holding penalty for once.

You're leaving too much up to the ref's on that one.

The blood rule takes the ref's POV out of it.

Blood 4 mins
No blood 2 mins

It's not a "blood" rule though. It's an "injury" rule. So if they draw blood it doesn't necessarily mean it's a double minor and the opposite is also true. Eichel knocked out like 4 of Larkin's teeth last year and he didn't bleed, but he got 4 minutes.

Well. I think he's pretty well-rounded honestly. But he's got an incredible shot. Too good to be considered a playmaker. But he's both, I guess.

It's the price to get it done before Wednesday.

Think the Doug Weight move from Carolina or the Tkachuk move from Pittsburgh.

He's got a great shot, but he sees the ice so well already and puts the puck where it can do the most damage regardless if there are men with stone hands receiving it. That's why he and Reinhart play well together, they both see the ice at a different level and Reinhart can cash those passes in.

I think that it's not actually a rule though that blood is an automatic 4. I think that is more implied at this point.

I think Eichel is finally as healthy as one can be during an NHL season though. He seems to be skating hitch free finally. I'm sure it still bugs him, but not enough to really have much of an effect on his stride.
