I'm sure they're just short bodies in the AHL because of the injuries on the big club. he won't sniff a roster spot with the big club

the more I read the more I think this guy might actually be heading to the NHL as a depth forward. when you look at bingo's roster it's easy to see why they'd want to bring someone else in, there is very little to get excited about at forward........almost all of our top prospects are in jr/ncaa/Europe....I honestly can't think of a single forward in bingo who would be more than a 4th liner in the NHL

WTF ! How about a trade PD ?! This is just pissing me off
I'm sure they could get an established NHLer with some sort of minor deal instead of signing a random 30 y.o with ZERO NHL exp.

I'm not saying he's any kind of a prize, but DiDomenico did play for Canada at the 2009 WJC (that Ottawa hosted), and put up 7pts in 6GP - which was more points than Jamie Benn had. He's also played for Canada at the Spengler Cup for the past 3 years and recently wore an 'A' for that team. That may have as much to do with this signing as anything else, given that Boucher was the Spengler Cup head coach for the first 2 of those years.

It's pretty clear that there are players in the Swiss League that Boucher developed a strong respect for, and who he's willing to give NHL chances to now that he's back coaching in the NHL. Dorion seems to be willing to play along, so long as they can get Pyatt-like ROI on the deals.
