Defensive zone coverage is terrible ... again! Too many times a Hawks have had time to move the puck and they hesitate and the Blues forecheck is right on them. Trying to shield the puck and take the hit and then move the puck doesn't work when the opponent is bigger. Should be a no-brainer to move the puck - don't hold on to it.

Was 16 on the bench at the end of the period? Kero was centering the Slovaks and AA the 4th line on the last shift.

Adequate value for a veteran NHL player? Draft picks don't skate for a long time in the NHL, sometimes never. His team needs to compete sooner than later instead of being a bottom feeder. But they'd rather spend their time taking on contracts like Datsyuk and Pronger to meet the cap floor. Like Gretzky once said of the NJ Devils - Mickey Mouse organization.

Think he's a keeper. #6 can be molded even more into the typical Q dman with the skill-set he possesses. Guy just needs to play and continue to gain experience in NA.

Wonder if hawks chase McGinn from arizona or Foligno from buffalo

He made a great long pass early on and that shot can overwhelm a goalie. But most of all man, is he quick. He just has to get it all together between the ears. But he's getting there.

Kempny is fast and physical, but he's still working on his positioning -- for example he seems to struggle with knowing when to pinch on offense.

Kempny has the potential to be a #4 defenseman in my opinion. Doesn't shy away from contact and isn't afraid to take a hit to make a play. North America is a transition, but with the right experience and partner, he can bloom into a respectable player.
