since the Flyers aren't going to make the playoffs can i once again mention how utterly (frank)ing stupid this system is where you have 1 vs 8, 4 vs 5, 6 vs 7 and 2 vs 3 if the season ended today? the Rangers would be seeded 7th even tho they have the 4th most points. Dumb

The old system, with reseeding after every round so that the best available team always faced the worst available team was the best way to do it. Why they changed we will never know.

Wasn't at you just at Doan. Like what circumstance over the past 5 years or so had him believing the team was poised for a run.

I think he's sick of inept management there
- Scoob

Well, the GM has been there for all of 8 months and sent a pretty clear signal that they weren't going to be contending this year. Maybe Doan should have asked for a trade or something.

It is truly dumb. Just make two conferences and 1-8 make it.

Hasn't there been reports in the past that they would move Doan if he wanted? I am sure a guy like him if asked to be moved would be moved.

Pretty random question

Has hextall made a waiver claim since he's been here?

I know of none. I know he doesn't do much of it.

Exactly. He could request a trade to a specific team and they'd likely do it for him.

And he also was the one who resigned with them last year. He knew the direction the team was going. He just knew he probably wouldn't get the money he did in AZ.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but how does he rank 74th overall? The top 30 centers we can argue and say they are on the top PP. The next 30, 2nd PP?, He is 14 outside of that. He doesnt score on the PP despite playing on the PP.

Overall he needs to put up points. 35 points a year isnt gonna cut it...

- jak521

Yes, Couturier doesn't score much on the PP. In those years I mentioned his PP point totals are 3, 6, and 7 PP points.

no

couple things here...you need cap space and roster space to do it (or make room) and there havent been many teams above them in the standings that have made claims

I wonder what the PP point totals are for the 2nd unit in those years mentioned. Feel like our 2nd pp unit has been terrible for a while.

I also wonder how much time they truly get. I tend to look at the clock when they change and they usually only get about 35-45 seconds to get in the zone and create offense.

Yes. He needs to produce more. Not trying to excuse the production. But it's not like he gets to start the PP in the zone most of the time like the first unit.

Stats are for losers. The only stat that matters is goals...and the Flyers lost again.

We have brought this up a bunch of times, but Columbus just claimed Zac Dalpe and assigned him to the AHL...so either we are flat out wrong or there is some loophole or way minnesota allows it

He's already their 3rd string goaltender so shouldn't have much of an impact.

I do think Hexy needs to move 1 goaltender regardless of the return for the sole purpose of getting a better look at Stolarz.

Maybe Dalpe was already in the minors or was with in the 30 day waiver exempt period?
