Hanzal nets a first? I'd make coots available if that's the case... Geez

Some people laugh at me on here when I say it, but I've said it before and I'll say it again: Bellemare could do what Coots does for 1/4 the cost. They're pretty similar players, and I actually think Bellemare might be better defensively. And during the win streak, he did fill that role, and we won. People can criticize me for saying it, but the truth is the truth. People get way too attached to dime a dozen guys like Coots. If we could get a low 1st for him, I would in a heartbeat.

I would argue Wayne Simmonds has been our team MVP this year. He plays all situations and has scored the most consistently while throwing a few punches if need be.
- SuperSchennBros

Agreed but team MVP doesn't always equate to best player. Simmonds does do some things better than Voracek like kill penalties, but Jake had thrown down too.

If I look at them strictly on an individual basis, Voracek is the better player IMO.

It's hard to ignore what happened with the flyers and their record when coots was hurt.

The flaw in your thinking is, Bellemare won't produce the same offensive numbers while checking opposing top talents like Couturier does. You're sour on Schenn because he's poor defensively at center. OK. Bellemare might do an alright job (I guess, I don't agree) but his game will also be one dimensional.

Its not an experiment. He has been with the team for 4 seasons. Players on short term deals play for the security of a long term deal.

But both Flyer goalies were in their last year and have played like poop? Not that I know what else is out there but if Hextall wasn't confident in something else wouldn't he have re upped one of these two by now?

ARIZ is receiving a first-rounder, a second-rounder and a conditional pick that can become a second..

If these are the prices in this year's market I'd be looking to clean house.

I would say Couturier seems to be over valued. Some feel he is a 2nd Centre, which I don't think he is. I would definitely make him available as a part of a package .

I am not a huge Couts guy but I still think he will get better, and as a 3rd line center can be very good.....Bellemare is a good 4th line center.

My thinking is twofold. I dont want to get into a long term deal for a free agent goalie. Id rather sign a stop gap player that will hopefully be a bridge to one of the young prospect goalies. Other than Bishop who will likely want long term, I dont see anyone better for that then Mason who I would hope will be motivated to show that this season was a fluke.

Thinking is sound....not so sure Flyers share your trust. But...and this is a big "but" ...the seasons only 3/4 done....so there's still part of this story to be written.

Flyers need to move streit and mdz to make room for Morin and hagg to get some games in. Neither are likely back next year so give kids games so you have a better idea what you got.
