Okay who are you going to get in free agency?

Somebody other than Mason

A factor in making that decision is knowing who will be available and at what cost. Otherwise its not an informed opinion.

I would actually check the cost for halak. Aldo signed another year so can be exposed at expansion.

I bet the pick will be conditional upon making the playoffs.

This makes no sense though

Agree on the compensation. Lombardi is hedging his bet with Quick returning. He strongly believes he's got the roster to come out of the West if his goaltending is above average.

They must not feel confident in Quick following the injury. Still makes little sense since Budaj had been so good for them.

At this point of the season is would be disappointed if Stolarz got zero games with the Flyers. It won't hurt his development and Lyons has gotten over half the work at LV anyway. Not a lot of down side playing the two young goalies at this point

If I read correctly, budaj has played in 6 career playoff games. Not surprising, Lombardi would want a little more success in net behind Quick if he believes he's solid everywhere else. It's a this year move no doubt

I didn't want to make it seem like he's THE ONLY safe one, but he's the furthest thing from Hextall's mind at the TDL
- Pelle31Forever

I would argue Wayne Simmonds has been our team MVP this year. He plays all situations and has scored the most consistently while throwing a few punches if need be.

I'd look to resign Mason on a cheaper 1 or two year deal before looking elsewhere.

The mase experiment has failed...
but keep hoping he will snap out of it for less money.

You know, for all we female dog about Vandevelde, Dale Weise has 2 goals in 49 games. Let me repeat. The guy that was signed for 4 years and 9.4 million dollars to be our 3rd line RW, has all of 2 goals and 5 points in 49 (frank)ing games. I don't want to hear that he's been playing better of late, the guy flat out stinks.

I would pick provorov. Simmonds really hasnt been great at even strength. After the first couple games provorov has been a rock.

Agreed. Giroux isn't playing well, so we should trade him. Alright, so how do we replace him? With Mason it's the same situation. Yeah, let's trade Mason but who is gonna replace him?

I'm not happy with Giroux or Mason's play this season but I don't view either player as garbage. If the Flyers keep around Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Schenn, Couturier, Mason, Provorov, Konecny, Gudas and Gostisbehere. I think the Flyers can build a decent team around the for the next two to three seasons.

Yea but he's so good away from the puck that he's helping the team most in the press box. This guy is special

Right, and continue to play with mediocrity.

If you trade Giroux you dont care who replaces him. You look past immediate gratification toward the high picks coming your way for those next 2-3 seasons.

Its not an experiment. He has been with the team for 4 seasons. Players on short term deals play for the security of a long term deal.
