lol I'm just bugging ya Flames are looking better even with that roster. Good on ya for stringing a few wins together. They should be in the WC mix til the end.

Not having wideman playing and goalie making a save does wonders for them

Eriksson hasn't played well and deserves criticism for that but his contract wasn't out of line for what the top UFA's earn, the terrible part of the contract was that it was signed by a team that is supposed to be rebuilding. Teams that can justify those types of contracts are the teams who need to add a few pieces to put them over the top and can risk sacrificing a couple of bad years at the end for the possibility of winning.

I agree that JB probably made a mistake with signing Ericsson, but not for the player but the term. I'm not ready to call him a failure yet. He's come to a new team, new structure, new coaching, which by the way does not use him to his strengths, so it's not 100% on Ericsson.

As for his contract, that was a very intelligent move on his part.....he's getting paid no matter what.

I thought I saw Burrows and his family on Friday, although I can't be absolutely sure, I was flying back from Montreal on a early flight, and this guy sure looked like Burrows.

He was taking the older kid to use the heads, and a smaller girl came running down the aisle to be with her dad.

We kind of locked eyes and I'm thinking that's Burrows and his eyes were saying don't say a bloody thing please.

Again I really don't know for sure, but when I was watching after hours and they showed Burrows at the bakery, he was wearing the same hat.

Gudbranson plays 30 games, doesn't adapt instantly to new players, system etc, he is a bust. We gave up youth blah blah blah.
Erickson who has played 61 games is 7 years older than Gudbrandson gets leeway from this fan base because of the new system, players etc, but takes away opportunity to take on a bad contract and acquire youth.
I don't get the thinking of Canuck fan most of the time.

Most of them don't think....they just want to react and criticize...it's easier

after the sedans farewell season, the canucks will only be 2 years away from being 3 years away.

slowly but surely the super slow rebuild is taking effect.

a dman trade for a top 6 is a must going forward. looking forward to the 2018 nhl draft!

Gudbranson is in the same boat as Eriksson, too early to know what you have.

Van does have a couple of bad contracts.....Their called the Sedins. Unfortunately, they will have those contracts until the end of next yr.

maybe Burrows gets traded to a team that goes on a run and the Sedins give it a shot next season.

Everyone knew the Sedins were not going to be productive at 36 when they signed that contract, it was the discounted price that teams pay to keep their home grown stars. female doging about now is short sighted. Mgmt was still trying to keep that window open, unfortunately 3 years later we are still in the same position.

New blog is up—Stecher's back on the ice for SuperSkills today, Joe LaBate makes a good impression and Martin Jones loves playing in Vancouver.

It would be great if they waived.

When I look at the situation, I think of that Hedberg article and growing up playing on the same team/organization maybe right up to the SEL. Coming to the NHL they want to stay with the same team.

Anyway, with the thought they may remain in Vancouver after retiring instead of going back to Sweden- kids want to finish schooling here (I think this has been mentioned a few times), maybe the Sedins become more open minded to moving for one last shot? Not putting much hope in it, but you never know.

I am tired at the ineffective style. Never have been a fan of this style .

I'm not complaining just voicing my sentiments. I like a team that plays hard to the net and punishes .

- VANTEL

The problem with that is that the game is moving away from the hard to the net/punishing style and over to the balanced scoring/speed teams. You need to get ahead of the curve, not try to go with what's worked in the past.
