I agree with what you are saying I just don't think thier style of play is why this team is going to finish bottom 5 in the NHL again, have spent to the cap again and have some of the fewest amount of picks come the draft.

They have made many many mistakes over the years.

They treat this team as a family ( Country Club) . They decide on moving players way after their value has dropped and they have been to loyal to the players to a fault.

This year after the expansion draft Canucks should move Tanev for a top 6 forward. So what if we lose next year. The drop off can't be too much further down.

They need players that can skate , shoot the puck and battle hard .

Vancouver used to be a place where players wanted to play. I don't think this is true anymore.

LE contract is buyout proof. He is paid in signing bonuses mostly. His salary is only 1-2 mil a yr and the remainder is signing bonuses.
- Kaynine

Eriksson hasn't played well and deserves criticism for that but his contract wasn't out of line for what the top UFA's earn, the terrible part of the contract was that it was signed by a team that is supposed to be rebuilding. Teams that can justify those types of contracts are the teams who need to add a few pieces to put them over the top and can risk sacrificing a couple of bad years at the end for the possibility of winning.

It just (frank)IN boggles the mind...honestly. WTF was he thinking. Forget that, I should just accept he's a terrible GM and move on, but I can't.

Cap space is such a valuable thing, him and Chia pet have no clue when it comes to cap management. Arizona took on Datsyuk's contract and got a 1st round pick for it (moved up), they took Jacob Chychrun, wouldn't it be nice to have Juolevi and Chychrun on the prospect list right now.

actually, Arizona traded pick #20 and a 2nd '16 just to move up to get pick #16 and Datsyuk.

Pretty good for detroit. but get your point. cap space is gold. 2-2 Dallas on a roll!

As I said in my post, they enticed Detroit by taking on Datsyuk's contract, thus they moved up four spots to grab Chychrun...because they could.

yup.

I sure hope they can add atleast 2 picks in this draft. Keep bugging edler to move on as well. Rather keep tanev simply based on age.
