Erickson's contract is all most buyout proof. If we buy it out after next season you save 1/2 million per year for 3 years then 2.5 million on what would be his 6th year of contract.
Why does a player like this get a pass from some fans with an excuse like "he takes a year to get accustomed", yet those same people will hang a young kid like Virtanen for his play or give Grenier the boot after a measly 6 games, yet we give others way to much forgiveness.

I strongly dislike "snow throwers, and unfortunately we have 5 forwards that belong to this category.

Sad state of affairs for this team when a big player makes a big hit and fights and that is what we will be talking about for the next four months .

I'd rather we have players who can score consistantly and especially on the PP beyond Horvat and Baertschi and a defense that can score more than 28 goals as a group.

I hate the Flames but I'll give them credit for building with youth, their top five scorers are 27-18-23-23-21....that bodes very well for their future.

He can still grow obviously, but he's literally doing nothing in the AHL. Not even getting secondary assists. That league has some poor players in it that can put up points.

Can't expect all top ten picks to come in and score 20 in the NHL the year after their draft year. Let's give Jake a little time to work on his 200' game which Travis Green says is coming around. He may need 2-3 years of development so no big deal…not even close to calling him a bust yet.

I have been a supporter of his, but this signing started to change my opinion of him, never.wanted.this player. The last thing this team needed was another player unwilling to battle in corners etc, when we needed players that are more willing to go to all dirty areas, whenever needed to.

Who's this we poop? It was obviously a poor decision on Benning's part and yes I put it squarely on Benning because it's his job to say no, we're not picking him.

Virtanen may play in the NHL one day, but it'll be as a middle six banging forward, which is fine, but you don't pick those guys 6th overall.
