JB was on tsn and saying that there was no plans for trading burrows currently. He also said they've been talking about a contract deal that is suitable to both sides. SO expect him back next season
- SMBDragon

My post was based on Burrows' interview on HNIC after hours following the game. Scott Oake asked him if he would accept a contract with the Canucks if one was offered and Burrows said absolutely!

Wouldnt it be something if he gets groomed and catches on to coaching. Then rises up to become the Playoff coach the Nucks need to win the Cup one day?!?

It didnt work with Steamer. But Burr seems like he might have the right stuff. He's tenacious and intelligent enough to figure it out. He's good with connecting with players so that's a start.

- Nuck4U

smart on the PK and PP too. THus might make a good special teams coach

Did you see the interview?

I think he said him and Jim spoke a couple of days ago to discuss options. Burrows was very tight lipped about any trade speculation, even when Scott Oake was trying to be "sneaky."

How do you figure that? Another year with Sedins here. You know they aren't going anywhere. What harm will it do if he's helping development with mentoring. It's not like Nucks have a gaggle of prospects fully developed that need the roster spot. As long as he can play and help the young guys doesn't that benefit the Nucks? If he gets traded now. Signs in summer and traded again next TDL it's all good, right?

28th in the league tonight. I don't think that they are the 3rd worst team in the league but i'm fine being there.

Was hanging out with a friend tonight who watches every single Wheat king game and he says that the Wheat kings are pretty sure Patrick isn't NHL ready and will be back next year.

So who are they better than?

Good first 40 mins tonight... I was entertained... thought the Sharks actually didnt play all that well but their skill won them the game when the Canucks mistakes led to odd man rushes.

yes....A few days back. it was JB himself. Said hanson had a lot of interest from a few different teams and burrows there was nothing cooking with any teams but that they expect a deal done between him and burrows that suited both sides.

I heard JB on the radio yesterday. He's not going to tell us anything more then they got NTC team lists on everyone and doing due diligence. If he gets a trade offer for value he'll do it. The contingency plans for Vegas expansion and options on players is something they are okay on. So they might trade guys and resign them. Lots to figure out. At least in a few days we will know if a TDL move happens. Then the freak outs can go on until the lotto ball drop.

You like LE with Bo? Finally that happened huh. If Hansen is traded I guess Sven fills in for both to work on for next season maybe.

See what you did there on contracts and cap. Bo number will be interesting.
Mittlestad won't be ready by then he will still be doing second year in college.
When he does come don't see him starting higher then 3rd line.

Now you see why Sutter is important. Without trading for one a 1/2 line center won't be ready until 2020 by drafting this season or next.

It could work.... I've been trying to watch Loui more... man that guy is timid near the net, I wish the Canucks had someone like Hornqvist.

On another note... if Miller stays... they better play the crap out of Markstrom... time to see what this guy can do especially when the better eastern teams visit in March.

LE timid around the net? How so? Anyway Sven BO and LE might be interesting to see for remainder of season. That's if Hansen gets traded.

They have for stints here and there. Especially when Miller was injured. No complaints. But WD prefers with his drive to win each game to use Miller. So that question of can Marky handle a full season as No. 1 will remain regardless. It only goes away if Miller is gone and he's the best option.

Eriksson could drive to the goalie more, I see he prefers to shoot away from the contact areas so he doesnt get hit. His play is lacking this year, I figure this is the next best way to improve his goal production.

Well if Miller is gone then its obvious Markstrom plays... but if he stays they are still iffy on Markstrom. I wanna see what the guy can do in a huge chunk of games. I dont think they are all that confident in him. Im not sold on him on.... yet. I dont think they roll with Markstrom and Demko next year.Good chance Miller resigns for a year IMO

Idk. I say LE is more about ugly goals & rebounds in the dirty areas.
Cycling is not really suited for him so if not driving the net he's net front presence parking his ass to screen goalies.
Type of scorer that needs to be shoot 1st when the chance. One year under his belt soon & will adapt much better for next season is my prediction. He ups his goal production & we find another 25-30 goals from D & new blood would be my goal if I were JB. Could that be BB doing most of it? Time will tell.

Very

Bringing back a 36 year old with nine goals is beyond dumb.

You don't build a winning team by hanging on to old men past their prime.

I get Burrows decision not to waive but enough is enough.

I hope Benning is taking this all in with the NTC/NMC bad bad bad,

Never give out any type of NTC that is more than 10 teams they can say no to.

Eriksson is quickly becoming one of my most hated Canucks in History and there is a long list of Swedes already on that list.
