I agree. I think if a trade does not happen it will not be from lack of effort. You have to think something could get down around Hamonic, Nelson and a 1st whether that's for Duchene or someone else?
- ses111

I think it would be more like Pulock, Nelson, and a 1st. Maybe even MDC instead of the first.

I think its clear that Duchene is a great fit for this club......and im sure they made an offer. But, if Sakic is looking for the sun moon AND stars, then i dont see the isles budging. Im all for paying up for Duchene, but i dont think any trade should include both Pulock AND Barzal.
- kindlyrick

absolutly not, I'd keep barzal over pulock though. as great as his shot is hes not a super defensive d man and barzal gives you more points. jt, duchene, barzal, cc down the middle would be super deep

He played in all of their playoff games until he was hurt, I think it's a stretch to say he's been "mishandled". He was the first call-up this year but, unfortunately, broke his leg like 10 minutes into the first period. He missed a lot of time and by the time he was healthy the Isles were rolling and he needed to be playing top minutes.

It may not have been optimal, but I wouldn't go as far as saying he's been totally mishandled.

Not making the team this year, after showing in the playoffs what he can do was mishandling. He's the top d prospect, yet he continues to be in the minors. My only point is that any team that trades for him inserts him directly into the fold......he's not going down to the A on any other team.

By the way....the trade deadline is tomorrow....can we get a new blog before this falls off the page?

I don't even care if it's blank.

yea gotta think if he didn't get hurt he would have been full time already. Some guys just get hurt and hes had 3 or 4 injuries already. I think hes become expendable with pelach and mayfield playing well and toews has really improved as well. they cant all make the team and if he gets you a top forward I think you have to pull the trigger regardless of his shot. Gotta give to get and he is exactly what Colorado needs

To be honest, if the isles offered, Pulock, Nelson and 1st and Sakic doesnt take that for Duchene, then he's a moron. Its a win win for both clubs. I understand he's got a top talent in Duchene, and he's trying to have his asset perform the most it can, but he shouldn't be overly greedy. As they say on Wall Street, Bulls and Bears make money, pigs get slaughtered....

Have to think that would be a very tempting offer. This would be the highest offer I make and I really do not want to move Pulock.

For all the chirping with Brock Nelson, the guy was never meant to be a first liner, yet he's consistently put up 1st line numbers. Add to him a top D prospect with a legit clapper, and a first.......thats A LOT to be giving up.

if not the best it would be one of and thats why I'd be ok with pulock being moved. The top 3 lines would all have a guy that drives the play and can create. If its barzal and ladd then you have a guy that can dish to him. nelson, see ya pal, strome is starting to have a resurgence and duchene would be great with him, and put beau on that wing.

I think it's exactly this. The simple fact that they called him up tells me that Snow at least things there is a better-than-50% chance that they make a move by 3pm tomorrow.

Otherwise, like Burke pointed out, they would have just kept Bracken Kearns around. I think this is insurance against trading a rostered, top-6 forward. I think Snow is all-in on Duchene and busting his ass trying to get it done. It may not ultimately happen, but I get the feeling he is working hard on this one.

There's no question in my mind he's made offers. His job is finally on the line here. Whether or not the deals happen remains to be seen.

A top three of JT Duchene and Barzal would be tough to pass on.

If he does get in a game, it will be interesting to see what he wears. I dont think he changed his number in the AHL for no reason. He's the least of my concern right now......I heard he pulled the race card when he wasn't chosen for WJC.
