Take this for whatever you will. Staples is kind of a doofus, but it's worth reading. - eichiefs9
Certainly a cheaper option than what Colorado wants......and he's a former linemate from WJC of Tavares i believe. I'd be into aquiring Eberle. |

no that wasnt me I worked the game before that one, that was my partner from Fridays game that got hit. Hes 62 and that kid crushed him, never saw him coming. after the empty net I said Im gonna leave, when the whistle blew for two kids in a wrestling match I watched and thats when the kid came out of the box and hit him. he yelled (frank) the refs and hit him and was then tackled by our linesman, i was at the door where they tossed him and he yelled ill (frank) you up at our guy who was pretty much out. he was then arrested in the room and taken out in cuffs - Upstate_isles
That is some poop. Don't see that happen too often. |

He's having a brutal year and won't be particularly cheap (cheaper than Duchene though, of course).
I'd be leery of that deal. I'd have to know the price before I could figure out if I'd like it or not. |

Taking Lee away from us? The one Isles player that plays like a man? |

What I posted in the main thread before was something to the effect of:
CdH, 2nd, Grabovski to TBL for Johnson, Filppula.
Good chance we lose CdH or Hickey to expansion, so I wouldn't be shocked to see them move one. Grabovski/Filppula have identical contracts, but TBL can LTIR Grabovski and (assuming they spend to the cap, which I think they will) get the full $5M savings. Isles haven't LTIR'd Grabo, so they still have a player with a $5M cap hit but he's healthy and would be a decent bottom-6 addition for a year. TBL gets a player on an RFA deal that they still have control of and won't be expensive. Isles get a 2nd line center in TJ, obviously.
I think that's a win for everyone. |

Did the ref have any significant injuries? I mean obviously he was hurt, but did he suffer anything major? |

It should be more than a slap on the pecker that's for sure. It was assault plain and simple. |

They are going to be in cap hell.
Johnson, Palat, Drouin all pending RFA's. Hedman/Vasy contract extensions kick in. They have some minor deals to make also. They lost/are going to lose $8M between Bishop's $6M and Boyle's $2M.
Even if TJ/OP stayed at their current cost with no raise (their cap hits are identical: $3.33M) they'd eat up $6.66M of the savings from losing Bishop/Boyle. And we know that they aren't staying at that number. All of that is without Drouin getting a big raise, too.
Not sure how picky Yzerman will be able to be. de Haan is a solid 2nd pairing guy and getting $5M in cap flexibility would be huge for the Bolts. |

But I am giving you the most beautiful gap toothed, 20 goal scorer in the NHL in return. |

Yeah I know, I meant that it's obvious his price tag wouldn't be as much as Duchene's. |

Pretty intense conditioning skate at end of #Isles practice. Hour of drills, now 15 minutes of hard skating.
Sounds like Dougie is kicking the crap out of them for that abortion on Saturday |

Oil need a capable 3C and some depth on RW. Make me an offer.
P.S. And if it includes Bailey as the centerpiece I'll throw you into that pit MDW has in his basement. It won't be lotion he tosses at you either. |

I missed that game thankfully. Did they play as pooptily as the score indicated? |

I stopped watching after goal #4 early in the 2nd. I was smoking a bunch of food and figured I might as well quit before I got too angry. |

The Isles are more barren than EDM at RW depth, so there's really nothing to offer there.
I'm having a hard time coming up with something because I'm not super excited at the thought of Eberle. |

I figure Tampa would want a prospect included as well? Just when I stopped thinking about Tyler Johnson. Darn you chief! |

I mean the Isles could replace the 2nd round pick with some sort of prospect, but I wouldn't expect it to be any of the guys they're high on. I don't see them including Wotherspoon or Vande Somple in that deal. Definitely not Pulock, probably not Toews. Maybe someone like Somerby? I have no idea really. Maybe a 3rd and Somerby? |
