Its not cold. Its when the Oilers luck started to turn. The whiffed on the Yak pick, shoulda took Risto instead of Nurse...LD just evened things out. Neither did I. I was simply suggesting that Stone is, or at least could be a good and solid #4. Obviously if he expects another raise on this years salary it would be a mistake to give it to him on a long term contract. But for just over $500,000 for the year remaining, that's a great pick up and could work very well for the future.

I don't understand why people are so quickly back on the Elliot train? The guy let in a shot from centre ice and than followed that up with 4 goals in one period.

I will say he looks a lot better!

If we can swing a deal for MAF something to the toon of:

MAF for Wideman, Johnson and Kenny Morison (or a pick)

MAF and Elliot for playoffs would be nice!

Can you name a single goalie who hasn't let in a goal or two like that in their career? He played well in that game and got them a point. He also made 7 or 8 amazing saves against Nashville when they needed them and was a big reason they won that game.

There's also nothing quick about it. He's 11-4-2 in his last 17 games with one of the losses being when he replaced Johnson against the Oilers. What more can you ask for in a goalie?

I'm with ya. I'd rather they target a top 6 winger than a goalie. Ride Elliott and Johnson and see where they take you. It either works out or it doesn't. A top 6 wing would solve problems as it seems the defense is at least a little bit more shored up. Hell, anything is better than JJ and the Widedog. I think Elliott is gonna keep up his current play and drive the Flames into the playoffs.

At least that's what I'm telling myself right now. Two or three losses and I'll be changing my tune as is tradition.

Doesn't mean it's not true! The crap that's been coming on the northern wind this year, suddenly 6 point separation, must mean these 2 teams are a lot closer and going to remain close for many years. Look forward to a Real Battle of Alberta playoff series.
