You don't want Nashville to win stupid.
- TheTaoOfSemenko

We absolutely do want Nashville to win. I'd much rather catch Edmonton or Anaheim for a playoff spot as one of the top three in the Pacific. Besides, Nashville is in Central division playoff spot and it's St. Louis that is fighting to keep a wild card spot.
The Flames and Oilers positions in the standings come down to their head to head games. Going 4-0 against Calgary is the difference. Had Calgary simply split those games we'd be tied. This closing stretch have the Flames in a position to control their own destiny. It starts Tuesday with an important match up with the Kings, who have Quick back. The Kings have 2 games in hand, but the Flames lead them by 6 points. Winning that game in regulation stretches the lead to 8, while losing means the Kings can catch the Flames with those games.

Why's that? They're ahead of St. Louis, 3rd in their division, were 6 up on LA. Closing the 4 pt gap is very attainable, wouldn't that be something if after all the bs either Edmonton or Anahiem fall to the wild card spot.
Talbot gotta be getting tired, and if Chiapet doesn't get him some help soon, he'll be done before the playoffs start. All this talk about Calgary needing a goalie, be pretty funny if it ended up being Edmonton that really needed one.
So yeah I'm cheering for Nashville! I cheer for the Russians before I'd cheer for Edmonton.

Funny, I typed almost the exactly this reply. I thought I had submitted it, but apparently, when my I answered the call I received, it hadn't. When I ended the call, I realized it had so I sent it. That's when I realized your post..

I think we may be in agreement on this.

That age old ABE principal applies.

Because Schultz is every bit the talent he was made out to be....unfortunately he's showing it for the Pens
- Larsson_fan

Schultz was slightly over evaluated, but not much. The oilers hampered his development he was getting way too money min. And once the fans got on him he was done. Nice to see him doing well in Pitt.

It's a 6 game road trip. They're 2-2 as of right now. Even with a loss today they could still go .500 on it. Nothing but home games down the stretch. We'll be just fine.

One of Nuge or Ebs will be gone in the off season I expect.

Just can't cheer for edm. So go preds. If the oilers miss the playoffs that would make my year. With a tired talbot a tired mcjesus. It is vary possible. And leon is a good complement player but he can't carry a team. The all mighty oil will be slumping at the right time

I rooted for the Flames hardcore in 2004. It's sad to see how toxic and petty the fanbase is. I guess Oilers fans are just more generous and likable in general.

and then after the game in St.Louis, only 5 road games the rest of the way. Only really difficult games are 2 against the Sharks, 2 against Anaheim,1 against Pittsburgh. Other than that there's really nothing to rationally suggest any sort of falling down.

Like I said, you guys should be looking back, not ahead. A few wins doesn't change the dumpster fire of your goaltending.

In any case, I'd really like to see Edmonton and Calgary both get in. Better than the nonsense of last year with no Canadian teams making it in. Flames and their fanbase are generally doucheboats but I gotta represent country.

9-2-1 over the last month is more than a few wins. Good luck riding Talbot into the ground, as I'm sure you can remember what that did to kipper back in the day, and he was a much better goalie than talbot. If you don't get a more capable back up, good luck getting anywhere in the playoffs.

Calgary goaltending has been just fine the last while too.

Whole lotta derp on this thread.

As someone just stated above, How the (frank) did Chiasson spend more than half the year on the first line, and never stick up for JG or SM????

Caught the last 10 min of the game but heard the announcer say that Stone was looking good with Brodie. If they click then that was a genius move!

Still not sure what to do about the tending situation but just hope they don't sell the farm to make it happen.

GO FLAMES!
