Myers for Hainsey and Pouliot? Wait, is that a real player? Whomever 51 is. The kid you all hate. I totally forgot his name. - Rexypoo
I still like Pouliot and I still believe in him but I realize I will have to let him go for him to be able to fly though. Myers is a huge upgrade over Hainsy and Sullivan refuses to play Pouliot so even though I know we will lose this trade in the end I would have to agree to it right now, reluctantly. |

Yeah who here is the one claiming to be a victim? - Feds91Stammer
There's a certain individual that likes to belittle anyone other than her or himself, then when someone gives it back at her or him, they claim that they are only here to innocently talk about hockey. |

Gryba could be a solid pickup. He'd serve as a nice grocery stick between the group of competent forwards and competent defensemen the Pens ACTUALLY have. - j.boyd919
The Oilers wouldn't trade Gryba even if I wanted him and wtf is a grocery store stick? |

I actually gave the definition of a grocery stick in relation to hockey in that post lol
a person who acts as a divider between groups or other people, can be useless. best describes the worst player on the hockey team that sits on the bench and separates the lines.
I'll use it in a sentence for you: Look at how useless dcoms is, he's the grocery stick of hockeybuzz.

Other option is Fleury to DAL for Oduya (3.75M UFA) and Niemi (4.5M 1 yr left). Oduya coming off ankle injury, could return Sun vs Boston. DAL would likely need to retain 50% on Niemi to make it digestible. PIT could then buyout Niemi (after expansion) for minimal cap hit.
No way does Dallas make this trade. Not only would Dallas be giving up what they could get for Oduya from another team, they also have to pay half of Niemi's salary, and take on the risk that Fleury, at 32, is just having a bad year. On top of that, Dallas gets to pay 5.75 million for Fleury the next two seasons. There is Zero chance of this. Dallas can just buy out Niemi themselves, get whatever they can get for Oduya before Wednesday, and go after a younger goalie like Grubauer, Raanta, or Darling. Even if Fleury ends up being bought out, his next contract will pay less than 5.75 per year. Calgary's the only chance for Pitt to trade him, and that's because they are in a playoff race. Fleury just doesn't have much of a market. Bad year, 32 years old, and an expensive contract, are a bad combination. |

Not sure you guys can risk not trading 1 of your goalies if you want to capitalise on what you have. What's cheaper (I have no idea), buying out 1 of the goalies or retaining salary in a trade with another team - not taking back another goalie? Then finding that team to trade with is probably the real question - who wants either of your goalies? Even for a back up when as you say there are other choices.
I think you guys would benifit from trading for Flower. It will eliminate a few problems straight away, but as you say, better trading Oduya somewhere else to maximise the return. |
