I never said Eaves was a bad pickup. I said it doesn't make them A LOT harder to beat as you stated which is also true of us if we were to acquire those two. A lot harder would entail grabbing a top-4 Dman and a top-6 winger.

His production this is year is something we could use on the RW for sure. Can't really say he's a 3rd liner either when he's producing at that level. He'd be 2nd on our team in goals.

Hence why I called him an overachieving 3rd liner. Overachieving to a 2nd line scoring level, but doesn't project to do so outside of the situation he was in with Dallas. Does he play LW with Getzlaf and Perry? Not with Ritchie there. Does he slot in with Kesler and Silfverberg? Rakell had too much success on W to ignore so unlikely. Slide him on a line with Vermette and is he gonna produce even close to what he has this season? Not a chance.

I dont think Iggy thinks "everyone" who disagrees is a moron. You for sure, but Iggy and I only agree 50 or 60% of the time and Im pretty sure he thinks Im of at least medium intelligence.

I know I would personally love to have a guy that is capable of scoring like a 1st liner playing on my 3rd line.

Dallas definitely sold him at his high point value wise. There's no way I would give up what Anaheim gave up for him. I think that pick probably becomes a 1st rounder. But I do think he's a very solid pickup for them that makes them a better team.
