Yup, and for the record the Rangers have been bumped to non HD when the knicks play. It happens. And have also been bumped down in my area when they are away and the Devils and Isles are at home. - mdw7413
I'm guessing you don't have Cablevision because every game is in HD |

There is so much land out east in Suffolk. I don't get how they can't find a bunch of big wigs put up money and get it done. Something by ronkonkoma train station for example. Or off sunrise hwy - Slimtj100

That's because all the loose tanning cream in your area blocks the HD signals.
I know this because I have a PhD in HD Signal Transmissions. |

My area doesn't have tanning cream, you're thinking North Jersey and Staten Island. Probably Brooklyn too in certain areas
I have an MD in tanning cream sales |

3-4 towns over thank god.
If there is a stiff breeze though you can catch the faint odor of axe body spray and hair gel though. |

That's because Fios is a competitor to Cablevision. If you have Cablevision you get every game in HD no matter what channel they are on. Years ago the 3rd channel was SD but that changed years ago. What happens with Fios when they go to a 3rd channel they probably have only 2 HD options thus putting the 3rd on SD. That has nothing to do with punishing the isles Trust me when I tell you that Dolan doesn't sit there trying to punish the isles. HE MAKES MORE MONEY WHEN THEY ARE GOOD!! Many factors go into what CH they air. Advertisers pay more money to advertise on MSG then MSG+ etc etc - Vukota
Vukota, stop wasting your breathe (fingertips, anyway). He's got his conspiracy theory hat on and you won't change his mind. |

I think what I hate most of Barclays is only one day game all season that you can bring your kid to.
sorry but 6pm sunday games don't compare to a holiday or Saturday 1pm or 3pm game.
Wonder if Barclays owner can just sell the Nassau Coliseum to the Islanders Owners.

This deal makes total sense to me from all parties (except the Mets).
From the MSG standpoint they see value in the Islanders and a new arena and potential new sources of revenue, especially at the expense of Barclays Center and the new Coliseum (run by Barclays)
The story mentions executives that ran the Maple Leaf Gardens company being involved and this obviously is good news. The more experience in running and getting a building built the better.
I know the Mets Sterling Properties are developers so that makes sense EXCEPT the Wilpons owe a ton on the Mets and Citi Field so unless they are involved strictly from a development and building standpoint, I don't see how the Isles can rely on them to kick in funds.
Here is the one worry that I would have as an Isles fan. No it wouldn't be Dolan owning the building telling them what trades can be made or that Mike Bossy can't go to the games. It would be them trying to renegotiate the TV contract which pays the Isles 24M a year through I believe 2032. That is a significant source of revenue to keep the Isles going and being able to compete with teams such as the Rangers, Flyers, Kings etc.. If that source is not touched and Dolan wants to invest in the arena for revenue purposes then I am on board. Belmont I have been saying is the best site. Closer to fan base. LIRR access. Parking. Hempstead Turnpike and Cross Island Parkway access. On border with city for the fans they have picked up over the last few seasons in Brooklyn and Queens. Plus it is on STATE land. Not to say the Town Of Hempstead won't chime in but Nassau County and some state representatives have pushed for a Coliseum return. I am sure they would be on board with Belmont being only 10 miles away. |

I can't see that happening since MSG is not involved with this project

Then the Isles should be able to get Duclair for a 4th. |
