From EJ Hradek.... Based on Jim Rutherford's comments today on NHL Now, there's a good chance Fleury could be moved by Wed. Fleury would have to OK the move

Dunno if something was said that was different than the usual lingo

Yes but where????? And for what???

Do you go to the Stars where seguin and been are?
Do you go to the Avs where they are selling the farm in duchene landeskog and Barrie?
How about Cal where there is Johnny Hockey and Sam Bennett...
I doubt STL is in the mix for a goalie with Hutton playing well...

Wont know unless it happens I presume... but I do think if he goes it will be of some decent value... I think they want to have him around in case of injury and then buy him out. And to mgmt this cup run means a lot more than whatever cap situation down the road.

We were tempted to head out for it, but everyone I talked to said outdoor games are overrated esp from view standpoint.

I went in Chicago... I had a cheap seat in the blizzard zone... I wouldn't trade that opportunity in a lifetime no matter how bad the Pens looked at times. I drove 900 miles and didn't have a ticket till 500 gameday either! Great memories!

I'm thinking Calgary. Stars and Avs have no reason to make a deal now. Calgary doesn't have a tender under contract for next season. The cap hit is a problem. We'd probably need to get creative.

From DK, sounds like MAF and GMJR were going to sit down today and decide on what MAF wants to do. Kind of sounds like its MAF call. Would not be shocked if MAF starts tomorrow, and his last one in a Pens sweater.

I truly think fleury will waive his NMC before the expansion draft if he isn't traded.
I don't think it will come down to that though because I think he gets traded before then.

I think he's traded in the next couple of days. Just a hunch. But if teams are calling JR, there's at least interest.....we might not love the return, but I think it's better to get this done sooner than later (after the season).

Honestly I don't even care about the return. Just getting him off the books is a good enough return

Yea, getting that salary off the books and being able to protect Murray is the real benefit of a trade. We have seen some goalies go for a high price though, so I'm cautiously optimistic that he can get a low 1st or 2nd round pick.

A trade involving Fleury is possible but I think unlikely. I can't see any scenario where Fleury would waive his NTC. I wouldn't if I were him. While (I think) Fleury has lots of love for the Pens and the city ultimately he has to do what is in his best interest.

If he forces the Pens to buy him out then he maximizes his salary (buyout + salary from next year's team). He also gets to participate in one more Cup run with the team and should Murray get injured, factor in on that Cup run.

If he waives his NTC then he ends up with less money and may spend the rest of his career with a garbage team like Arizona. Why would he do that?
