Lombardi's scouts have been doing their jobs and keeping tabs on various players. Lombardi was in Toronto last week to check in on the Maple Leafs, and the Kings' V.P. of Hockey Operations and Player Personnel was in town earlier this week to see both the Leafs and their AHL affiliate

They still have to sign him for next year though, a contract that can be burried if LV doesn't pick him up.

Yep, that's what we're hoping

Not getting a good scorer up front without a little subtraction

Maybe Martinez?

I think that's why Smith was playing, to get enough games if not it will have to be someone we don't want to lose ( I think )
- Garnie

No, I mean do they have 7 forwards that need protection?

If someone wants him to help them in the playoffs, it would be a good thing.

yes veteran centre...Lou may get creative with this to obtain a prospect...due to Laich's caphit...might cover the salary until year end to get an asset

Anybody else notice the "untouchable" and "trade Nylander because of how good he is" Jeremy Bracco has been massive poop since being dealt to Windsor?

.. I told everyone I wasn't impressed when I watched him play

Gez, I doubt it. Even if they retain 50%, I don't know if anyone would take him.

That'd be nice, save capspace (depending on what comes back)

yes although leafs might want to keep him and get him a contract extension; him and smith to meet exposure requirements on fw.

btw does Steve Briere have any say on coaching decisions re goalies?
seems quite obvious to change Andersen for any other person in goal for shootout..

Yeah, Washington gave us carrick just to be rid of him.

Maybe we move him, but for an equally bad contract.

I just said it's quite obvious that Andersen is really bad in shootouts.
made the point already a few weeks/months ago that Andersen is significantly worse than alot of other nhl starters.
Andersen was perfect last game, but he's just really really bad in shootouts.
since that's a clear fact, team should not play him in a shootout.
(his shootout numbers have gone from good to ok to really bad over 4 seasons - since a very small sample size this might all be 'luck' but it just seems that he's not very confident (at least not aggressive) in shootouts)

And backup number are worse, no point.

Leafs aren't just losing cause of the goalie. They haven't scored in the shootout for poop.

We need to score more in the shootout.

I don't think it's a good idea to change the tender, good way to piss him off. IMO
